Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent liquid refrigerant from becoming flash gas, etc., at the time of starting an operation of a compressor by sensing an indoor temperature, operating a cooling fan only for a predetermined time before the operation of the compressor is started, and starting the operation of the compressor after a temperature of a machine room is lowered. CONSTITUTION:A refrigerator comprises a compressor 3 installed in a machine room 2 partitioned in a lower innermost part of a body 1 and cooled by a cooling fan 9. On the other hand, a temperature in the refrigerator is sensed by indoor temperature sensing means 10. The fan 9 is controlled by cooling fan control means 11 based on the sensed indoor temperature. The means 11 outputs a drive command held temporarily when a predetermined time set by a timer 12 is elapsed to the compressor 3 and starts the operation of the fan 9. That is, the operation of the fan 9 is started prior to the start of the operation of the compressor 3 thereby preventing liquid refrigerant from becoming flash gas at the time of starting the operation of the compressor 3 and cooling from becoming insufficient due to a disturbance of circulating the refrigerant.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a freezing and cold storing device having considerably improved cooling performance and reliability by a method wherein the production of flash gas is prevented without heating a capillary tube at the time of restarting a compressor after completion of defrosting to contrive the maintenance of a normal cooling operation. CONSTITUTION:A freezing and cold storing device is provided with a cold air duct 7 in communication with a freezing chamber and a cold storing chamber, a capillary tube 6 and a suction pipe 5. By securing the capillary tube 6 in contact with the outer wall of the cold air duct 7, the production of flash gas is prevented to contrive a normal cooling inside the device or the prevention of a temp. rise of a compressor.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of a hindrance of circulation of a refrigerant which is caused by that the refrigerant in a capillary tube exchanging heat with a suction pipe is turned into a gas by extraordinary heating when an overheated refrigerant in an evaporator after completion of a defrosting operation flows through the suction pipe. CONSTITUTION:After completion of defrosting, a two-way valve control means 32 detects a start of a compressor 9 and opens a two-way valve 31. At this time, a suction pipe temperature detecting means 33 detects the temperature of a suction pipe 13 and maintains the state of the two-way valve 31 until the temperature of the suction pipe 13 lowers to a prescribed temperature (e.g. -10 deg.C). Thereby the temperature of the suction pipe 13 lowers and a hindrance of circulation of a refrigerant in a capillary tube 11 is not caused.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To separate refrigerant gas under a vapor-liquid mixed state into gaseous component rich in a low boiling point component and liquid component rich in a high boiling component while making the gas approach to a theoretical balanced state of the mixed refrigerant and to enable a vapor-liquid separator to be easily mounted on an inner wall of an outer case of a refrigerator. CONSTITUTION:A vapor-liquid separator 9 comprises a thin-box type main body 10 of a container having a plurality of flow regulating plates 11 arranged in a gas flow direction within an upper half part of the container, an inlet pipe 12 arranged at an upper part of the main body of the container, a gas discharging outlet pipe 13 arranged at the upper part of the body of the container opposing against the inlet pipe, and a liquid discharging outlet pipe 14 arranged at the lower part of the body of the container. The vapor-liquid separator 9 is contacted with and fixed to an inner wall 16 of an outer box of a refrigerator 15 so as to separate medium into gas component full of low boiling point substance and liquid component full of liquid substance and then the vapor-liquid separator can easily be mounted on the inner wall of the outer box of the refrigerator.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To permit the storage of transporting articles in a cold storage chamber even during cold heat accumulating operation by a method wherein at least one set of a ventilating fan is operated in conjunction with a cold storage chamber temperature detector during the cold heat accumulating operation to control the amount of cold air invading into the cold storage chamber. CONSTITUTION:Cold heat accumulating operation is effected by operating a compressor 40. When cold heat accumulating agent 28 is cooled and solidified perfectly by a cooler 29 and the temperature of a cold heat accumulating temperature detector 44 gives a predetermined temperature, lower than a freezing temperature, a cold heat accumulating temperature detector 43 is operated and the operation of the compressor 40 is stopped. In this case, the inside of a cold storage chamber 36 is not cooled to a cold storage temperature and, therefore, the b-contact of a cold storage chamber temperature detector 39 is in a conducted condition and both of ventilating fans 30, 31 are operated to ventilate air. When the inside of the cold storage chamber 36 is cooled to the cold storage temperature, the b-contact of the cold storage chamber temperature detector 30 is released from the conducted condition thereof and, therefore, only the ventilating fan 31 is operated. The temperature in the cold storage chamber 36 is controlled at a set temperature by repeating above-described operation during cold heat accumulating operation whereby the temperature of transporting articles 48, carried into the cold storage chamber 36, may be controlled at a temperature within the range of set temperatures.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce an amount of frost formed to a cold heat accumulating agent by a method wherein a first cold heat accumulating agent is arranged on the upper stream side of a cooler, and an intake air duct is formed to the under surface of the cooler by means of a heat insulating section wall and the drain pan of the cooler, and a second cold heat accumulating agent disposed so as to heat-exchange with a defrosting heater is arranged in the intake air duct. CONSTITUTION:A cold heat accumulating chamber 29 is provided on the under surface of its interior with a defrosting heater 36, a cooler 33 having a drain pan 37, a first cold heat accumulating agent 32 arranged on the upper stream side of the cooler 33, an intake air duct 38 positioned on the under surface of the cooler 33, a second cold heat accumulating agent 39, disposed in the intake air duct 38 so as to heat-exchange with the defrosting heater 36, and a ventilating fan 46 positioned on the upper stream side of the first cold heat accumulating agent 32 and cooling and insulating cold heat of a cold heat insulating chamber 28. Since frost formed during transport can be defrosted in a way to be formed concentratedly to the second cold heat accumulating agent 39 having the defrosting heater 36, this constitution prevents the deterioration of cold heat insulating capacity even when the cold heat accumulating agents are continuously used for transport in a short time in which the cold heat accumulating agents 32 and 36 are not molten completely.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide two switchable temperature ranges for freezing and refrigerating by providing a cold storage temperature controller that controls the cooling temperature of cold storage medium at different temperature lower or higher than the melting point, and a selector switch which links with a cold keeping temperature controller that controls the temperature in an insulated compartment at different temperature for freezing and refrigerating. CONSTITUTION:In case an insulated container is used for freezing transportation at a freezing set point (-18 deg.C), a selection switch 46 is turned to 46b side, and a power source cord 47 is disconnected from a power source to stop the operation of a compressor 41. The container is loaded on a truck, etc., and transported to a destination. At this time, a ventilating fan 38 is brought into operation by supplying electric power through the selector switch 36a for freezing, and a cold storage temperature controller 44a is also put into action, so that cold air cooled by the melting latent heat of cold storage medium flows through the inside of the wall 23 of the insulated container, and is discharged into an insulated compartment 40 through an air outlet 37 to cool the insulated compartment 40. In case the container is used for insulating transportation at a refrigerating set point (0 deg.C or 5 deg.C), the ventilating fan 38 is brought into operation by supplying electric power through the selector switch 36b or 36c for refrigerating, and a cold keeping temperature controller 44b is also put into action, so that cold air cooled by the sensible heat of the cold storage medium flows into the insulated compartment 40 through the air outlet 37 to cool the insulated compartment 40.

CONSTITUTION:The title cold storage is provided with the main body 23 of a cold storage chamber, consisting of a cold heat accumulating chamber 27 accommodating cold heat accumulating agent 28 as well as a cooler 29 and a cold heat keeping chamber 36, a heat insulating partitioning wall 30 defining the cold heat accumulating chamber 27 from the cold heat keeping chamber 36, a suction hole 31 arranged at one end of the heat insulating partitioning wall 30, a damper thermostat 32 arranged at the other end opposing to the suction port 31, a ventilating fan 33, a switch 34, conducting and/or stopping the ventilating fan 33 in conjunction with the opening and closing of the damper thermostat 32, and a refrigerating machine unit 41, having a condenser 40 inscribed to the outer peripheral surface of the heat insulating wall excluding the cold heat accumulating chamber 27 of the main body 23 of the cold storage chamber. The cold heat accumulating agent 28 is cooled and frozen in the cold heat accumulating chamber 27, having a small volume defined by the heat insulating partitioning wall 32, during cold heat accumulating operation while the cold heat keeping chamber 36 is cooled and maintained within a set temperature by the opening and/or closing of the damper thermostat 32.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce wear of the sliding portion at the top of vanes, by shaping a rotor having a non-circular cross section to have a point-symmetrical outer configuration, and thereby increasing the pressure acted to the contact surface of the vanes during the exhaust stroke of a rotary compressor while decreasing the pressure acted to the contact surface of the vane during the other strokes. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 4 having a non-circular cross section is shaped to have a point- symmetrical outer configuration, so that the pressure acted to the contact surface of a vane 9 at the time of the exhaust stroke of a rotary compressor is made higher than that acted to the contact surface of a vane of a compressor having a rotor shaped to have an axially symmetrical outer configuration such as an elongated circle or an ellipse while the contact pressure is made lower at the time of the other strokes of the compressor. That is, in the range (a) of the angle of rotation at which the pressure in a compression chamber becomes maximum, the pressure of contact between the vane 9 and the rotor 4 is high, so that positive seal can be obtained at the contact surface and the leakage loss can be reduced resultantly. In the other range (b) of the angle of rotation than the exhaust stroke, on the other hand, the pressure of contact between the vane 9 and the rotor 4 can be low, so that the frictional loss at the contact surface can be reduced. Therefore, it is enabled to reduce the mechanical loss and wear at the contact surface and to enhance reliability of operation of the compressor.
