Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve positioning accuracy of a head by simple structure by generating frequency correction information when tracking is controlled based on a positional error signal and transferring the head to a position near the next target track based on the positional error signal and a frequency correction coefficient. SOLUTION: When disturbance occurs in synchronization of rotation of an i-th ((i) is a natural number) order disk due to rotation of magnetic discs 11A, 11B, disturbance frequency synchronized with the number of rotations of the magnetic disks 11A, 11B is generated for a reference signal on a disk surface according to the order of the disturbance. The error signal S3 generated based on the reference signal S2 is outputted as an AFC correction signal S11 by being added to output of a tracking control part 26 after an AFC operation processing is executed via AFC filters 21A to 21D and an adder 22 successively in case of a tracking mode, an AFC coefficient is successively updated and converged into a specified value by controlling the AFC correction signal S11 by feeding back.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve safety with securement of a necessary amount of laser light.
SOLUTION: A distance measuring device includes: a laser light source 2 emitting laser light; an optical element 3 substantially collimating the laser light emitted from the laser light source; a light projection mirror 4b, rotatable within a given angle range, which reflects the laser light substantially collimated by the optical element toward an object 100 to be measured to scan the object by the laser light; a light receiving mirror reflecting the laser light reflected and diffused by the object; a light receiving element receiving the laser light reflected by the light receiving mirror; a light collection optical system collecting the laser light reflected by the light receiving mirror to guide it to the light receiving element; and a control part calculating distance information on the object by processing light receiving signals created based on the laser light received by the light receiving element. A mask member 9 masking the laser light in a peripheral zone within an optical path is also arranged on the optical path between the laser light source and the object to be measured.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive device and a head positioning controlling method for the device capable of sufficiently suppressing periodical disturbance synchronizing with the rotation of a recording medium inputted to a servo control system and simultaneously securing the stability of the servo control system. SOLUTION: The output signal 44s of a filter 44 is added to a positional error signal PES and successively stored in a delay memory element 43. The element 43 delays a stored signal 42s by the portion of one rotation period, and outputs it to the filter 44. A corrected command Mr obtained by multiplying a gain Kr to the obtained signal 44s by a multiplier 45 and the signal PES without being delayed are added to be successively inputted to the element 43 as a new internal state signal 42s, and the command Mr is added to the signal PES without being delayed like feed forward to make a manipulated variable 46s. The manipulated variable is compensated to execute positioning control of the tracking directions of magnetic heads 4a to 4d.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable continued recording of data even when a defect exists. SOLUTION: When a defect Def exists on a spiral track Tsp, a CPU calculates a point existing one rap before the defect Def of the spiral as movement staring point Pst and the point existing one rap after the defect as movement ending point Psp. Before a magnetic head reaches the point Pst, a command is sent from the CPU to a servochannel part to position a magnetic head on a track TR connecting the points Pst and Psp. Based on the command, the servochannel part generates a signal for indicating a target position so that the magnetic head moves on the above-mentioned track TR from the point of reaching the point Pst and then, on the track Tsp again from the point of reaching the point Psp. This allows the magnetic head to move on the track TR from the point Pst avoiding the defect Def while enabling continued recording of data.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make a clock signal accurately follow the eccentricity of a disk by correcting the phase or the frequency of the clock signal in accordance with a stored disk eccentric quantity. CONSTITUTION:Eccentric quantity data inside a storage section 26 is read synchronized with the rotation of the disk, converted into a speed signal by a feed forward compensator 29 after converted by a D/A converter 28 and feed- forward impressed additionally as the control voltage of the VCO 35 of a PLL circuit 30. Thus, the VCO 35 is controlled by not only an output from a phase comparator 31 but also a track circular eccentricity display voltage arriving via a switch 34 from the storage section 26. Therefore, the VCO 35 is followed by a closed loop operation generated from the disk and an open loop operation is carried out as well by a signal from the storage section 26 for predicting a current time eccentricity quantity.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain accurate phase average signal even if jitter is generated, in data pulse by detecting the entry of the data pulse in a pulse discriminating window, selecting one output in an averaging circuit and making it the final output. CONSTITUTION:A plural number of reference clock is generated from a single master clock by a reference clock generating circuit 1 and outputted to a phase comparator circuit 3; the data pulse column and the reference clock are compared, and comparative output signals are outputted. The comparative output signals are averaged by the averaging circuit 5. A plural number of pulse discriminating windows are generated from the master clock by a circuit 2 for generating pulse discriminating windows and outputted to a detection circuit 4. What position the data pulse column is at in the plural pulse discriminating windows is detected by the circuit 4, and the detection signals are outputted. The signals by which a switching circuit 7 is shifted and driven from the plural detection signals based on a prescribed deciding method are outputted by a circuit 6 for selecting, discriminating and processing output. Any one of the plural averaging signals from the circuit 5 is selected and outputted by the circuit 7 based on the switching signals.

By the controller 13, the control signal of a VCM 16 is outputted to the adder 15 and by the correction control circuit 14, the correction amt. of the control signal from the controller 13 is outputted to the adder 15 only for a fixed time from the time switching from a seek mode to a settling mode. The VCM 16 controls according to the output signal from the adder 15 and feeds back the output (x) of a position detector 17 to the other end of the adder 11.
