Abstract: PURPOSE:To avoid an error in a setting operation by projecting a setting screen on the master screen by means of a PoP function at the time of a setting mode and projecting the symmetrical picture to be set on the slave screen. CONSTITUTION:When an input command for setting a channel comes, PoP (picture out picture) display is executed, switches 3A and 3B are changed over, the master screen is moved to the slave screen and simultaneously changed-over to a video input and, at this time, character information for setting the channel is supplied. When the channel is selected, the picture of the selected channel is projected on the slave screen and the new channel is simultaneously stored. When channel setting is completed, the master and slave screens are restored to an original state, PoP display is completed and a mode comes back to the normal display mode. Therefore, character information when the mode becomes the setting mode is displayed largely and clearly, key setting is executed while watching the screen of the selected channel and setting is surely operated.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To clearly recognize whether a signal under reception is a scramble signal or not, in the receiver which can receive the scramble signal. CONSTITUTION:The received scramble signal is supplied to a scramble decoder 16 and a BPF 4. In the scramble decoder 16, a video signal is extracted and this is detected by a decoder output detection circuit 17. The output of this detection circuit 17 is supplied to a control microcomputer 15 and here, it is judged whether the power source of the scramble decoder 16 is turned on or not. In the BPF 4, an audio signal is extracted and the control microcomputer 15 analyzes scramble information contained in this audio signal and judges whether the received signal is scrambled or not. Since the control microcomputer 15 controls a signal distinguishment information generating circuit 18 according to these judged results, and information showing whether the signal under reception is the scramble signal or not is generated and displayed on the screen of a CRT 7.

At the same time, the equipment 5 can carry out the processing operation allocated previously to the code 3B. Thus the interlocked operations are attained as necessary between both equipments 5 and 6.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To execute efficient sampling with a comparatively low speed inexpensive element by deviating a sampling position of an input video signal for each field and sampling the signal and synthesizing the sampled data. CONSTITUTION:A sampling signal generating means 16 generates a sampling signal with different sampling position for odd number and even number fields in an input video signal and an A/D converter 7 samples the input video signal over two-field (one frame) by using the sampling signal to form a sampling data. Then sampling data of two-field outputted from the A/D converter 7 are synthesized by a level detection means 9 to form one set of sampling output data as to one frame. Thus, sampling output data with practically sufficient accuracy is obtained with a low cost circuit.

The arithmetic processing part 33 executes the prescribed arithmetic processing based on these constants B, W and the adjusting data selected from memory means 34, 35, and obtains the data to be the standard of the setting of the control signal, and adds this data and a signal value being controlled at the luminance level adjusted beforehand, and outputs the added value as the control signal SB.
