    Abstract: PURPOSE: To reduce material cost and enhance the reliability of a positive terminal by using a material having austenite and ferrite structure at normal temperature in the positive terminal and fixing a positive electrode to a battery cover or a battery can by caulking. CONSTITUTION: A positive terminal 23 is made of two phase stainless steel comprising austenite and ferrite structure at normal temperature, and enveloped together with a negative electrode 3 and a separator 8. The negative electrode 3, the separator 8, a positive electrode 2, and the separator 8, and the negative electrode 3 are mutually stacked in order to form an electrode stacked body. The positive electrode 2 is fixed to a battery cover 21 or a battery can by caulking. Then they are put in a flat type battery container 10 and an electrolyte prepared by dissolving a lithium salt serving as an electrolyte in an organic solvent is poured in the container 10. Since two phase stainless steel is used and the positive electrode is fixed by caulking, cost is reduced, leakage resistance is ensured to the shock such as falling down, and a battery with high reliability can be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To have simultaneous application of coating to both sides of all object by moving it relatively, and supplying the coating to the two sides of the object between two places. CONSTITUTION:When slided in the 8 direction, shutter members 35a, 35b separate from doctor blades 31a, 31b. Thereby a coating 413 is supplied from stagnating parts 36a, 36b simultaneously to both sides of an Al foil 21 and scratched off by the blades 31a, 31b to build coats on the two sides of the Al foil 21 to a certain thickness simultaneously. When the members 35a, 35b are slided in the A direction, on the other band, to come in contact with the blades 31a, 31b, supply of the cooling 43 from its stagnating parts 36a, 36b to the l foil 21 is checked, and no coating is applied on the Al foil 21. Accordingly repetition of movements of the shutter members 35a, 35b in the A and B directions provides intermittent applications of, coating 43 on both sides of the l foil 21.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery which can use a copper lead as a lead for high output by eliminating the difficulty of resistance welding when copper is used as the lead, and a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: In a lithium ion secondary battery using a copper foil as current- collecting foil of a negative electrode, a copper lead 2 is used as a lead from the copper foil, and this copper lead 2 is welded to a battery can 8 by resistance welding. Since the copper lead 2 is used, it is suitable for a battery whose maximum electric current is not less than 20 A. In this case, the copper lead 2 is welded to the battery can 8 by resistance welding to heat them by carrying an electric current, by sandwiching the copper lead 2 and the battery can 8 between a first welding electrode bar 3 and a second welding electrode bar 4 in which metal 5 having high electrical resistance is attached to its tip.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical battery with a large capacity and high quality by improving the method for manufacturing a cylindrical battery with a large capacity for which a spiral electrode body with wide width is employed and improving the manufacturing efficiency. SOLUTION: A spiral electrode body 2a is spirally rolled on a rolling core 1 and one end forms a positive pole side 3 and the other end forms a negative pole side 7. The spiral electrode body 2a is produced by rolling a sheet-like positive pole electrode, a sheet-like negative pole electrode, and a separator in layered state and positive pole leads 4 and negative pole leads 8 are led out of the positive pole electrode and the negative pole electrode, respectively, to the respective sides and collected. The rolling core 1 is made of a polymer material and when the electrode body is rolled, the rolling processing carried out while an axis of a winding apparatus being inserted into the center hollow part of the rolling core 1 and on the completion of the rolling up, the rolling core 1 is left in the center of the spiral electrode body 2a as it is and the resultant electrode body is subjected to the next manufacturing process to produce a cylindrical battery having a rolling core 1.

The metal seal is made of a metal material mainly comprising aluminum, or stainless steel, and the blind plug 4 is made of stainless steel.
