Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable high energy density to be attained and prevent a poor electric discharge caused by cutting a positive electrode during an electrical discharging operation by a method wherein a breakage extension of the positive electrode current collector is a specified value and an outer diameter of a spiral electrode is a specified rate of an inner diameter of a battery casing. SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte battery is made such that a spiral electrode composed by laminating and winding a positive electrode 2 and a negative electrode 1 held at both surfaces of a positive electrode current collector 3 of FeS2 or aluminum through a separator 4 is stored in a cylindrical battery casing 5. In this nonaqueous electrolyte battery, a breakage elongation of the positive electrode current collector 3 is restricted to 1.3% to 3.1% and an outer diameter of the spiral electrode is restricted to 97% or more of the inner diameter of the battery casing. With such an arrangement as above, it is possible to prevent a poor electrical discharging caused by cutting the positive electrode during an electrical discharging while a poor insertion of the electrode into the casing, poor making of the positive electrode and reduction of a reaction area of the electrode are being restricted.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a battery pack in which USB (Universal Serial Bus) terminal mounting electronic equipment such as a portable audio player equipped with a USB plug capable of charging only by USB bus power can be easily charged outdoors or the like. SOLUTION: This is the battery pack 10 in which the USB plug 11 that has a secondary battery, a charge control circuit 2, and a discharge control circuit 26 or the like inside, and that is connected to the charge control circuit, and a USB receptacle 12 that is connected to the discharge control circuit are installed at a sheath body. In charging the battery pack, the USB plug of the battery pack is plugged into a personal computer. Moreover, when the USB terminal mounting electronic equipment is charged at a place such as outdoors wherein the USB terminal of the personal computer cannot be obtained easily, the USB plug of the USB terminal mounting electronic equipment is connected to the USB receptacle of the battery pack. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a housing for a battery avoiding deformation caused by the bulging of a secondary battery and avoiding the generation of troubles caused by the deformation. SOLUTION: Recesses 11 (11A-11C) and recesses 14 (14A-14C) are installed on surfaces facing each other of a lower case 10L and an upper case 10U for constituting a battery pack case 10. Even if secondary batteries 20A-20C housed in battery housing parts P1-P3 are bulged in charge/discharge, the bulged parts are housed in the recesses 11, 14. Since the deformation of the battery pack case 10 caused by the bulging of the secondary batteries 20 is avoided, the generation of troubles caused by the deformation of the battery pack case 10 is avoided. Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce material cost and enhance the reliability of a positive terminal by using a material having austenite and ferrite structure at normal temperature in the positive terminal and fixing a positive electrode to a battery cover or a battery can by caulking. CONSTITUTION: A positive terminal 23 is made of two phase stainless steel comprising austenite and ferrite structure at normal temperature, and enveloped together with a negative electrode 3 and a separator 8. The negative electrode 3, the separator 8, a positive electrode 2, and the separator 8, and the negative electrode 3 are mutually stacked in order to form an electrode stacked body. The positive electrode 2 is fixed to a battery cover 21 or a battery can by caulking. Then they are put in a flat type battery container 10 and an electrolyte prepared by dissolving a lithium salt serving as an electrolyte in an organic solvent is poured in the container 10. Since two phase stainless steel is used and the positive electrode is fixed by caulking, cost is reduced, leakage resistance is ensured to the shock such as falling down, and a battery with high reliability can be obtained.

PURPOSE:To prevent a battery from breakage certainly with actuation of an anti- explosion valve by furnishing an electric isulative layer on that surface of valve, at least a part thereof, on the side which receives the battery internal pressure besides the lead connection part. CONSTITUTION:A negative electrode 1 formed by coating a negative electrode current collector 9 with a negative electrode active material and a positive electrode 2 prepared by coating a positive electrode current collector 10 with a positive electrode active material are wound round while a separator 3 is interposed and accommodated in a battery can 5 in the condition that an insulative substance 4 is laid on and under this roll obtained. A positive electrode lead 12 is installed as welded fast to an anti- explosive valve 8 made in aluminum and connected electrically with a battery lid 7 through this valve 8. When the battery internal pressure rises, the valve 8 is heaved to make deformation, and the lead 12 is cut while the part welded to the valve 8 is left. An insulative layer 13 is formed on the surface of valve 8 other than the lead connection part, at least a part thereof, on the side which receives the battery internal pressure. This prevents the battery certainly from temp. rise and breakage.

PURPOSE:To ensure a long lifetime even through charge/discharge cycles in a high temp. environment by forming a positive electrode active material so that its cumulative dias. have a specific particle size distribution. CONSTITUTION:A band-shaped positive electrode 2, negative electrode 1, and separator 3 are placed one over another and wound spirally to form a winding, which is accommodated in a battery can 5 with an insulative plate 4 inserted to the bottom. Therein the positive electrode active material applied to the positive electrode 2 has a particle size distribution such that the 10% cumulative dia. is 3-15mum, the 50% cumulative dia. is 8-35mum, and 90% cumulative dia. is 30-80mum. This suppresses deterioration of the electric characteristics due to inclusion of particulates and large-size grains, and drop of the capacity is not likely even when charge/discharge cycles take place in a high temp. environment, and the rate of generation of internal shortcircuit can be lessened. Thereby a battery sustaining service in high temp. environment is achieved, which is also equipped with a high energy density and cyclic characteristics.

PURPOSE:To prevent the fall and peel of an electrode constituting material from a collector in a battery to prevent the capacity deterioration of the battery or improve the cycle characteristic. CONSTITUTION:A negative electrode 1 having electrode constituting material layers 1a on both surfaces 9a, 9b of a flat collector 9 is formed. The surface roughness of the flat collector 9 is 0.15mum-3.0mum in central line average roughness. A flat separator is laminated on the negative electrode 1, a flat separator is also laminated on a positive electrode formed in the same manner as the electrode 1 with a different electrode constituting material, and the electrodes with separators are laminated to each other and then spirally wound to form a wound electrode body. As the collector 9, a titanium foil or aluminium foil is used.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery pack which is used as a portable power source or an emergency power source of electronic equipment such as a personal computer and has an outside shape capable of exchange with an outside equipment, and can endure the usage for a long time. SOLUTION: Three non-aqueous electrolyte batteries 30a, 30c, 30e are connected in series to form a cell battery block A and similarly three non-aqueous electrolyte batteries 30b, 30d, 30f are connected in series to construct a cell block B. After the cell battery blocks A and B are connected in parallel, a flexible substrate 18 is folded up and overlapped respectively, and thereby, a battery block having an outside dimension capable of installing and detachment into the slot inside the drive to bay is composed. SOLUTION: This battery is provided with a wound electrode 5 capable of charge and discharge and having terminal reeds 15, 16 for charge and discharge, an outer package 6 to house and seal the wound electrode 5 in a state that the terminal reeds 15, 16 are led out, a control circuit part 7 that is connected to the terminal reeds 15, 16 on the outside of the outer package 6 and carries out control in charge and discharge, and a connector 8 having a prescribed number of connecting terminals to be electrically connected to the control circuit part 7 and to be detachably connected to a socket for memory media installed on the external electronic equipment and having a shape and a size specified by specifications of the memory media, and the connector 8 and the control circuit part 7 are integrally installed by fixing to the outer package 6.
