SOLUTION: A leaf spring 9 is used as a pressing means for pressing hooks 7a provided on a holder to hold the cassette so as to engage with the magnetic recording/reproducing device. Further, a leaf spring 8 which is retreated by the cassette at the time of inserting the cassette and returned to the initial position to pressurize the rear end part of the cassette when the cassette comes to the specified position, is used as a member for preventing the cassette from falling off provided on the holder.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recording and reproducing device such as a VCR device, etc., capable of cleaning contact surfaces of detecting terminal of a cassette and contact terminal of an information detecting body respectively immediately before their electric contact operation so as to ensure electric contact between them. SOLUTION: This VCR device is equipped with a cassette 4A(4B) having a detecting terminal plate 40 on a side part for the purpose of reading information of the kind and contents of the cassette housing a recording medium and writing such information and the information detecting body 30 having a contact pin 33 to be in electrical contact with the detecting terminal plate 40 of this cassette for the purpose of detecting information about the cassette. In this case, a cleaning brush 43 formed into a narrow rectangular shape out of a film-like member with a large number of slits is fitted in a visor-like pattern above the contact pin 33 to the information detecting body 30, and when the detecting terminal plate 40 of the cassette is lowered from the upper part to the information detecting body 30, the cleaning brush 43 is elastically deformed to rub the detecting terminal plate 40 of the cassette and the contact pin 33 of the information detecting body 30 respectively so as to perform its cleaning operation.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the damage of a recording tape and to improve the wear resistance of a reproducing head by stopping the recording tape while keeping the holding of a tape sending mechanism and performing an operation for slackening the tape. SOLUTION: When shifting to a standby mode, a control means controls a tape sending mechanism so as stop a a recording tape 308 whole the tape 308 is held between a pinch roller 4 and a capstan 3. By controlling a tension regulator mechanism, a locking piece 11 on a chassis 1 for locking one end of a tension regulator spring 12 is moved to a tension regulator arm 5 and by reducing the expansion of the tension regulator spring 12, the tension of a band brake 10 is reduced. Thus, the reproducing device is provided, wherein a contact force between the recording tape 308 and a rotary head 2 is weakened, the damage of the recording tape 308 is prevented and the resistance of the rotary head 2 is improved.

By restricting the moving range of the control pin 30 by the elastic body 44 and the stopper wall, the rotating range of the tension arm 30 is controlled by the stopper arm 40.
