Abstract: An optical pickup device for condensing the light from a light source on a signal recording surface of an optical recording medium, such as an optical disc (20). A semi-spherical lens (9) of the optical pickup device has a surface (9b) facing an optical disc (20) and has a pre-set refractive index. The optical pickup device also has a slider (12) adapted for securing the lens (9) and for being in sliding contact with an optical disc (20), and a spring plate (13) adapted for thrusting and supporting the slider in sliding contact with the optical disc (20). With the optical pickup device, high density reproduction may be realized, while the tolerance value for warping during disc molding or the tolerance value for warping due to moisture absorption may be increased. In addition, the production yield and the degree of freedom in selecting the disc materials may be improved.

Abstract: The lens holder is for lenses (2,3) which are arranged on an optical axis of an optical measuring head which is constructed for the recording and/or reproduction of data. The holder has several reference surfaces (4a1,4b1) which in each case lie along the optical axes and the inclination of the lenses the lenses (2,3) for controlling the positions of the lenses to regulate the positions of the lenses along the optical axes and the inclination of the lenses. Independent claims are included for methods for producing a lens holder, and for a metal punch used for producing the lens holder.

Abstract: SO1067 APPARATUS FOR RECEIVING SIGNALS IN PLURAL FREQUENCY BANDS Radio receiving apparatus for receiving signals in plural frequency bands. Plural signal processing channels are provided, each channel being associated with a respective frequency band and each being tunable to different frequencies within its associated band to derive information signals when tuned to broadcast frequencies. Depending upon which of the signal processing channels is tuned to a broadcast frequency, a controllable switch connects that channel to an output circuit so as to supply the derived information signals thereto. A pulse generator generates intermittent pulse signals when the tuning condition of at least one of the signal processing channels is changed. These pulse signals are used to sample the tuning condition of that signal processing channel to determine of that channel is tuned to a broadcast frequency. Abstract: A presettable tuning apparatus includes a digital tuner; a source of digital signals representing radio frequencies to which the tuning apparatus is respectively tuned; an addressable memory having a plurality of sequentially addressable storage locations therein for storing selected ones of the digital signals; write-in circuitry for selectively writing the digital signals from the source into selected ones of the storage locations in the memory; a comparator circuit for comparing the digital signals stored in an adjacent pair of the sequentially addressable storage locations and providing a control signal indicating the relative values of the frequencies represented by such digital signals; and circuitry for replacing the digital signals stored in the pair of storage locations with one another when the control signal indicates that the frequency represented by the digital signal stored in the lower-address one of the pair of storage locations is higher than that represented by the signal stored in the higher-address one of the pair. The apparatus thereby automatically rearranges the particular storage locations in which the digital signals are stored so that the order of the frequencies represented thereby corresponds to the sequential order of the storage locations, notwithstanding that the digital signals can be written at random into the addressable memory.

Abstract: An optical pickup incorporates a two-lens system with first and second lenses (13) and (14) being arranged in the following manner: the first lens has a first surface (15) to receive a laser beam radiated from a semiconductor laser and a second surface (16) to direct the laser beam transmitted from the first surface (15) towards the second lens (14); the second lens (14) has a third surface (17) to receive the light flux transmitted from the second surface (16) and a fourth surface (18) to direct the light flux transmitted from the third surface (17) towards an optical disc placed opposite thereto; and the first and fourth surfaces (15, 18) are used as a reference during positioning. The aberrations of the optical pickup are limited within a tolerable limit without incorporating a special device for that purpose even if errors arise in thickness of component lenses of a two-lens system constituting an element of the pickup.
