Abstract: PURPOSE:To make recording data possible without extra and deficiency by controlling the compressing rate of data in accordance with capacity capable of recording information of a recording medium and the length of information to be recorded. CONSTITUTION:When an input part 13 is operated and recording start is commanded, an arithmetic circuit 12 reads the recording possible capacity (remaining quantity) of a disk 15 and displays it in a display part 14. A user operates the input part 13 and inputs recording capacitance (w) to be recorded and the recording time (t) of the information. Then, the circuit 12 calculates an average transmission rate R1 from a following expression: R1=w/t-alpha, provided that alpha is the transmission rate for audio data and other additional data which are added to video data in a system multiplexing encoder 9. Then, the circuit 12 permits the display part 14 to display picture equality at the time of recording a video signal at the average transmission rate R1. When picture quality displayed in the display part 14 is sufficient, it is inputted from the input part 13 and recording is executed at the average transmission rate R1.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To clamp a video signal to be regenerated and to regenerate a video signal having a high picture quality by preventing the superimposition of a pilot signal on a clamp signal when reproducing and eliminating the influence of the demodulated components of the pilot signal and its spurious. CONSTITUTION:At a TCI encoder 13, a luminance signal and a color difference signal are time-axially compressed and multiplexed, a TCI signal is formed and the clamp signal which becomes the reference base of the video signal is time-divisibly multiplexed. The supplying of the pilot signal from a pilot signal generator 21 to adders 24A and 24B is stopped by a switching circuit 23 based on a timing signal from a delay circuit 22 during the period of the clamp signal. The pilot signal is superimposed on the TCI signal by the adders 24A and 24B and a recording signal is formed. The recording signal is recorded on a magnetic tape 1 by magnetic heads 17A and 17B.

The processing circuit 180 corrects errors for the supplied video sub code signal and converts the video sub code data signal into the format of the data channel on the voice and data signals in the MUSE transfer system (the format for MUSE 1-bit stream) to be supplied to one input terminal of a switch SW 7. The voice signal processing circuit 30 converts the 4-channel voice data into the format of the voice channel of the data channel in the MUSE transfer system, that is, the voice channel of the MUSE bit stream, to be supplied to the other input terminal of the switch SW 7.

When the video signal with the anti-piracy signal superimposed thereon is recorded by a recording processing circuit 21, an anti-piracy signal detection circuit 22 detects the anti- piracy signal, a system control circuit 23 outputs a dubbing inhibit signal STOP based on its detection signal to inhibit the recording in the recording processing circuit 21.

CONSTITUTION:In the case of a high vision broadcast of an MUSE system and a 4-channel stereo voice, a principal voice is a first and a second channels CH1 and CH2. Therefore, on a track pattern on a tape, as for a PCM voice recording area PA12 of a first and a second channels, an area separated more from a track end part of a head scanning start side than a voice recording area after a third channel is allocated, and the areas after the voice recording area become an index signal recording area, a preamble period, and a video signal recording area VA. Accordingly, the higher degree of importance the voice of a channel has, the smaller probability for generating an error becomes, and a sound signal of a high quality is obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of recovered clock and to prevent deterioration in picture quality by increasing a level of a burst signal more than a level of a video signal in a video tape recorder in which a High Vision signal is FM-modulated and recorded and reproduced. CONSTITUTION:A signal level of a burst signal 6 is set larger than a level of a luminance signal 3 by nearly 18dB and set larger than that of a color difference signal 2 by nearly 12dB. Moreover, a peak level of a horizontal synchronizing pulse 5 is set nearly equal to a negative peak level of the signal 6 or set smaller than that. Thus, when the signal level of the signal 6 is set larger in this way, the S/N at the reproduction of the signal 6 is excellent, the accuracy of the recovered clock is improved and no deterioration in the picture quality of the reproduced picture is caused. That is, a write clock WCK with excellent tracking with respect to jitter of the reproduction signal is produced from a write clock generating circuit 37 of the reproduction section 8 and a same output data as an input data to a D/A converter section 17 of a recording section 7 is obtained from an A/D converter 30.

Consequently, a main pilot signal PS2 can be eliminated by making a beat between the main pilot signal PS2 and a signal formed by a circuit in a reproducing system, having the same frequency f2 as the main pilot signal PS2, and at the same time, the main pilot signal PS2 and beat frequency signals BS1 and BS2 can be formed, and in order to make both levels equivalent by controlling the positions of magnetic heads A2 and B2, the ATF method tracking control is feasible. By this method, the ATF method tracking control system can be realized even for a multichannel recording and reproducing system VTR.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify a construction and to improve a reproducing efficiency by changing the width of a magnetic metallic film with a front gap part and a back gap part and making a track width smaller than a head chip thickness. CONSTITUTION:Two magnetic core half bodies I and II are joined and integrated in which substrates 1 and 2 composed of a nonmagnetic material such as ceramic and thin films 3 and 4 composed of a ferromagnetic metallic material are made into main components, and the width of magnetic metallic films 3 and 4 is coincident to a track width Tw at front gap parts 3a and 4a, the width is made larger in the next direction at the part positioned at the front gap side of winding grooves 9 and 10 and the width is equal to a head chip thickness Cw at back gap parts 3b and 4b. As the result, the core cross section is secured at a back gap part from the inside of the winding grooves 9 and 10, a magnetic resistance is made lower and a magnetic head with a good efficiency is realized. Since the films 3 and 4 are formed along the abutted surface of the substrates 1 and 2, the porcelain obtains the shortest distance along the winding grooves 9 and 10 and a magnetic path length is made shorter.
