    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a glass for near infrared absorption filter, exhibiting water- resistance and weather-resistance durable to long-term use and having high absorption coefficient in near infrared region and high transmission in visible range by using a CuO-doped phosphate glass as a matrix. CONSTITUTION:The objective glass for near infrared absorption filter useful for the sensitivity correction of a light receiving element of a color image pickup device is a CuO-containing phosphate glass having a composition of (A) 65.0-75.0wt.% of P2O5, (B) 11.0-14.0wt.% of Al2O3, (C) 0-4.0wt.% of B2O3, (D) 3.0-9.0wt.% of K2O, (E) 2.0-6.0wt.% of MgO, (F) 0-4.0wt.% of ZnO and (G) 1.5-4.0wt.% of CuO.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the title glass having high light transmissivity in short wavelength region, easy to produce, made up of P2O5, Al2O3, BaO, AlF3, MgF2, CaF2, SrF2, BaCl2, BaF2 and NaF at a specified molar ratio. CONSTITUTION:The objective glass made up of (A) 0.5-8mol% of P2O5, (B) 0.1-2mol% of Al2O3, (C) 0.5-7mol% of BaO, (D) 29-42mol% of AlF3, (E) 5-13mol% of MgF2, (F) 15-30.5mol% of CaF2, (G) 10-22mol% of SrF2, (H) 0.5-16.5mol% of BaCl2, (I) 0-11mol% of BaF2 and (J) 0-7.5mol% of NaF. To produce the present glass, the above raw materials are mixed at a specified ratio and melted at ca. 900-1100 deg.C followed by casting in a conventional way. The present glass has high light transmissivity over a short wavelength region of 200 to 300nm, thus being suitably used for various kinds of optical instruments, etc., to be used over said short wavelength region.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the stable title glass capable of transmitting light from visible area to wide infrared ray area and having excellent infrared ray transmission by constituting a glass of ZrF4, BaCl2, LiF and NaF having a specific molar ratio. CONSTITUTION:The aimed infrared ray transmitting glass has a composition consisting of 35-65mol% ZrF4, 5-30mol% BaCl2, 5-30mol% LiF, 5-30mol% NaF and 10-60mol% total amount of LiF and NaF. Ionization tendency can be lessen by furthermore adding at least one kind selected from AlF3, GaF3, YF3, LaF3 and GdF3 to the above-mentioned composition at an amount of 1-15%. Stability can be further improved by moreover adding at least one kind selected from CaF2, SrF2 and BaF2 thereto at an amount of 3-30%. The resultant infrared ray-transmitting glass is useful as a lens, etc., used in infrared ray area.
