Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a disk device which prevents the outflow of air from the inside of an outer enclosure and which prevents dust particles from entering the outer enclosure from the outside. SOLUTION: An enclosure 2 which is opened in one side is installed. A cover body 3 which is supported by the enclosure 2 so as to be freely moved is installed. A mechanism chassis 6 which is arranged inside an outer enclosure 4 which is formed of the enclosure 2 and the cover body 3 is installed. A holder 5 which holds a disk cartridge 15 formed in such a way that a disklike recording medium 17 is housed rotatably inside a case body 16, in which an insertion hole 16c to be opened and closed by a shutter 18 is formed, and which is moved with respect to the enclosure 2 due to the movement of the cover body 3 is installed. An actuator 8 which is provided with heads 11, 11, which is moved when the shutter 18 at the disk cartridge 15 is opened, which allows the heads 11, 11 to be inserted through the insertion hole 16c and which positions the heads 11, 11 in arbitray positions on a recording track on the disklike recording medium 17 is installed. An air-outflow preventing space 13 which is opened only on the side of the insertion hole 16c in the disk cartridge 15 held by the holder 5 inside the outer enclosure 4 is formed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suspension, for the support of a recording bead of a disk drive, by which a jump can be suppressed when suffers a shock of various frequencies and which obtains a high shock resistance. SOLUTION: A suspension 10A is provided with a mount part 20A, a spring part 30A, a load beam part 40A and a gimbal 50A. Then, viscoelastic bodies 60A and restraint plates 70A are fitted to the spring part 30A. By the viscoelastic bodies 60A, vibration energy which acts on the spring part 30A is converted into thermal energy due to a shear deformation, and the bending mode of the spring part 30A is attenuated. In addition, the restraint plates 70A shear-deform the viscoelastic bodies 60A more. By this constitution, the bending mode of the spring part 30A due to a shock is attenuated, the resonance of the spring part 30A is suppressed, the spring part 30A itself is hard to deform at high speed, and the whole shock resistance of the suspension 10A is enhanced.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the dynamic pressure fluid bearing capable of more suppressing a rotary shake than heretofore. SOLUTION: A rotary thrust plate 115 is formed to be gradually thicker from the inner circumferential side to the outer circumferential side, and an upper surface 116a of a bearing part 116 to be opposite to a lower surface 115a of this rotary thrust plate 115 is formed to be flat surface. Consequently, a gap between the lower surface 115a of the rotary thrust plate 115 and the upper surface 116a of the bearing part 116 is gradually narrower toward the outer circumferential side. When the rotary thrust plate 115 is rotated, a lubricant fluid on the discoid surface is moved to the outer circumferential side, whereas since the gap with the bearing part 116 is narrower toward the outer circumferential side, the lubricant fluid is most compressed on the outermost circumferential side so that a dynamic pressure is generated. By this dynamic pressure of the lubricant fluid, a thrust load can be supported.

Suspensions 58a and 58b on the end of the actuator, and mounting plates 57a and 57b go in and out at almost right angles with respect to a head inserting slot 7, which makes it possible to minimize the width of the head inserting slot 7. Thus, the head inserting slot 7, from which dust is most liable to enter into a disk cartridge 1, can be minimized as far as possible to securely prevent or effectively control entering of dust.
