    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to repeatedly perform recording and erasure, in a laser recording medium having a recording layer obtained by forming org. coloring matter into a built-up film of a J-association band along with a film forming substance, by forming the built-up film using a specific compound as the film forming substance. CONSTITUTION:A cyanine dye represented by formula I, dioctadecyldimethylammonium chloride (DODAC) and methyl stearate (StME) are dissolved in a solvent mixture of chloroform/methanol to prepare a solution adjusted so that the combined concn. of DODAC and StME is 1mg/ml and 25 monomolecular films are built up on a glass substrate 1 having an aluminum reflecting film 2 using said solution according to a LB method to form a recording layer 3 and a recording medium sample is obtained. This sample is irradiated with flash light from the side of the recording layer 2 and instantaneously heated to perform recording. Next, the sample irradiated with flash light is allowed to stand for 24hr under such a condition that temp. is 30 deg.C and humidity is about 100% RH to perform erasure.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase the recording density of information by performing multiple recording to the same area, by constituting a laser recording medium by superposing a plurality of ultrathin built-up film recording layers respectively containing org. coloring matters having absorption peaks in different wavelength regions by a LB method. CONSTITUTION:An aluminum reflecting film 2 is provided to a glass substrate 1 by vapor deposition and recording layers are formed in the order of a first recording layer 3 and a second recording layer 4 by LB method to obtain a high density recording medium sample. A cyanine dye represented by formula I, dioctadecyldimethylammonium chloride (DODAC) and methyl stearate (StME) are dissolved in chloroform/methanol to prepare a solution adjusted so that the combined concn. of DODAC and StME is 1mg/ml and 25 monomolecular film are built up according to the LB method using said solution to form a first recording layer 3 having an absorption peak at about 780nm. A cyanine dye represented by formula II and arachic acid are dissolved to prepare a solution adjusted so that the concn. of arachic acid is 1mg/ml and 6 monomolecular films are built up according to the LB method using said solution to form a second recording layer 4 having an absorption peak at about 670nm.

Concretely, 30pts.wt. of benzopirane type spiropirane and 50pts.wt. of benzothiopirane type spiropirane are dispersed in 100pts.wt. of a vinyl chloride/vinylidene chloride compolymer and the resulting composition is dissolved in a solvent to prepare a solvent solution which is, in turn, applied to a glass substrate to obtain an optical recording medium having an optical recording layer 2 with a thickness of 1mum formed thereto.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain image elements with high sensitivity through exposure in only once by scattering magenta, yellow, and cyan photoconductive toners sensitive to red, green, and bule lights, respectively, on a substrate, electrostatically charging these toners, exposing them to erase the charge, and finally removing the remaining charge-erased toner particles. CONSTITUTION:Colored photoconductive toners each having a high sensitivity wavelength region and a colored absorption wavelength region not overlapping with each other are used, and they are exposed to converted lights corresponding to electric color image signals to form an image. Magenta, yellow, and cyan colored photoconductive toners sensitive to red, green, and bule lights, respectively, are uniformly scattered on a substrate, these 3 kinds of toners are charged and exposed to erase said charge selectively, and the charge-erased toner particles are removed from the substrate. Said photoconductive toners are formed by adding a photosensitizer and a colorant to a photoconductor, such as S, Se, or Zn compd, and further adding a binder resin.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the rectangular ratio of magnetic recording medium manufactured by ferromagnetic powder largely by coating the ferromagnetic powder with a Co compound in an alkaline aqueous solution and treating the magnetic powder with a cation surface active agent. CONSTITUTION:The ferromagnetic powder is coated with the compound of Co ions or Co and Fe ions in the alkaline aqueous solution. When washing the Co compound layer, the magnetic powder is treated with the cation surface active agent, and dried. Consequently, the direct contact of the Co compound layer is prevented, and the cementation of the magnetic powder grains can be obviated. Accordingly, the rectangular ratio of the magnetic recording medium manufactured by the magnetic powder can be improved remarkably.

CONSTITUTION:Powder of hydrated iron oxide (A) (e.g., alpha-,gamma-,delta-FeOOH or the like) as a color changing material, microcapsules (B) each formed by encapsulating a reducer (preferably, sodium thiosulfite or the like) in a high-molecular material, as a capsule material, preferably one which is stable to the reducer and the color changing material and has a small water and gas (oxygen or the like) transmission rate as well as is pyrolytically decomposed at the temperature during recording, e.g., a polyvinylidene chloride-containing polymer, and a binder (C) (e.g., an electron radiation curing type bromie-containing epoxy resin or the like) are applied on a carrier in the shape of film, tape or the like, together with a dispersant such as lecithin and a solvent such as toluene and hardened by means of the electron radiation to obtain the objective recording medium. EFFECT:Recording can be effected at a low temperatur and for a short period of time.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium which has a magnetic layer having high cross-linking density, large modulus of elasticity, and excellent wear resistance, by utilizing cross-linking reaction by irradiating an acrrylic oligomer with an electron beam. CONSTITUTION:With a 100pts.wt. resin mixture consisting of 30-80pts.wt. vinyl chloride resin and 70-20pts.wt. rubber resin, a 10-200pts.wt. acrylic oligomer having >=3 functions, such as the reaction product of trimethylolpropane and 2-hydroxyethyl(meth)acrylate, the reaction product of pentaerythritol and 2- hydroxyethyl(meth)acrylate, and the reaction product of dipentaerythritol and 2-hydroxyethy(meth)acrylate, is mixed to obtain a binder. Magnetic paint which uses the said binder is applied to a base and irradiated with an electron beam, thus obtaining a magnetic recording medium of cross-linking structure by the cross-linking reaction of the acrylic oligomer.
