    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a biaxially oriented polyester film with excellent scratch resistance and shaving resistance of the film surface by using a specified amt. of rutile titanium dioxide particles with a specified particle shape. CONSTITUTION:This biaxially oriented polyester film contains 0.05-5wt.% rutile titanium dioxide particle with an average particle diameter of 0.05-2mum and a sphericity coefficient of 0.8-1. It is pref. that the degree of flatness of the surface projection of said polyester film is 7-16, because the scratch resistance and shaving resistance are improved thereby. It is pref. that ethylene terephthalate is a main constituting component as the polyester film, because the slipperiness, scratch resistance and shaving resistance of the film are further improved thereby.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a film with higher Young's modulus and excellent slitting property by a method wherein the title film consists of polyester containing a specified repeated base unit and having the variations of the thicknesses in the longitudinal direction and in the width direction, the refractive index in the direction of the thickness and the melt viscosity, all of which are brought in the specified ranges. CONSTITUTION:Polyester must contain 80 mole-percent or ore of a repeated base unit represented by the formula (1). A film consisting of polyester containing less than 80 mole- percent of the repeated base unit has lower Young's modulus. The film is obtained by biaxially orienting said polyester. The refractive index in the direction of the thickness of the film after being oriented must lie within the range of 1.50-1.57. A film, the refractive index in the direction of the film thickness of which is smaller than the range just mentioned above, has poor slitting propery. In addition, the variations of the thicknesses both in the longitudinal direction and in the width direction of the oriented film must be 20% or less. A film with the variations of the thicknesses both in the longitudinal direction and in the width direction of the film exceeding 20% has poor slitting property. The melt viscosity of the oriented film must be in the range of 500-20,000 poises at 290 deg.C and 200 sec . A film with the melt viscosity smaller than 500 poises has poor slitting property, while a film with the melt viscosity larger than 20,000 poises has lower Young's modulus.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare a film which has a mechanical strength, but can be manually cut in an arbitrary direction by such an arrangement wherein simultaneous extrusion is carried out so that a film of crystalline polyolefine of higher melting point is laminated on both sides of a film of crystalline low molecular weight polyolefine respectively, and after bi-axial stretching, the laminated film is heat treated at a temperature between melting points of both types of polyolefine and the film is then elongated in the longitudinal direction. CONSTITUTION:Simultaneous extrusion is carried out so that a film of crystalline polyolefine of higher melting point is laminated on both sides of a film of crystalline low molecular weight polyolefine of which extreme viscosity is 0.5- 1.5 respectively, and a 3-layer laminated sheet is thus formed. This sheet is bi- axially stretched in the longitudinal and axial directions, and then heat treated at a temperature higher than the melting point of the crystalline low molecular weight polyolefine and lower than that of the crystalline polyolefine and it is further elongated in the longitudinal direction by 1.1-2 times. By this manner, it is possible to prepare a polyolefine film which has a mechanical strength, but can be manually cut in an arbitrary direction, and prevented from whitening at the portion of cutting.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the title polypropylene film having excellent transparency, mechanical properties, flatness, electrical properties, moisture barrier characteristics, etc., characterized by the particular cleavage index, orientation coefficient to the b-direction, and thickness. CONSTITUTION:For example, 2-20 sheets of biaxially oriented polypropylene film are stacked each other, and temporarily bonded by heating at 100-140 deg.C under tension while evaculating the air between each layer. The temporarily bonded films are firmly bonded by pressing at 140-155 deg.C under a linear pressure of >=25 kg/cm. The polypropylene film thus obtained has a cleavage index of 1-20 pref. 0-10; an orientation coefficient to the b-axis direction (cos phib z) of >=0.65, pref.>=0.72; and a film thickness of >=mum, pref.>=260mum.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a white polyester film which has excellent thermal dimensional stability, low specific gravity, flexibility, cushioning properties and thermal dimensions and in which folding wrinkle is scarcely formed. CONSTITUTION:A white polyester film comprises at least two layers, wherein one of them (named 'an A layer') is formed of a film formed of composition mixture of composition mixture of polyester (a), polymer (b) non-compatible with the polyester and polyester polyether copolymer (c), at least one side (named 'a B layer') is formed of polyester (a), and polyester polyether copolymer (d), fine bubbles are contained in the A layer to be whitened, and an apparent specific gravity is 0.5 to 1.1.
