Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image forming processing speed without impairing the quality of an image by holding the surface temperature of the transfer part of an intermediate transfer body in any stage of an intermediate transfer process to be equal to or under the softening point of a toner image. SOLUTION: The surface of an intermediate transfer drum 31 is cooled by a cooling means 80 and the surface temperature of the drum 31 is kept equal to or under the softening point of the toner image. By preventing the toner image at the contact part of the drum 31 with a photorecpetor drum 11 from being softened, the reverse transfer of the toner image is effectively prevented and the density of the output image is prevented from being lowered. Especially, the surface of the drum 31 is always cooled, so that the reverse transfer of the toner image is effectively prevented even at the time of consecutive printing, and printing (image formation) need not be stopped in a period required to cool the drum 31 as in the conventional manner. Namely, the constitution of the device is made suitable for consecutive printing. Especially, in the case of forming the color image, the color component on the drum 31 is not reversely transferred to the drum at the time of transferring the next color component.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To keep the concentration of liquid toner constant at the time of developing an electrostatic latent image by controlling the replenishing amount of the replenishing developer for holding the concentration of the developer in target concentration based on the density of the recorded information. CONSTITUTION:The control means 90 is provided with a controller(ECU) 91 and an electromagnetic solenoid 92, and the electromagnetic solenoid 92 is used by the means 90 and a correcting means 95 in common. The consumption of the liquid toner is calculated by the ECU 91 based on the input from a print data control circuit 98. And, the amount of concentrated toner to be replenished from a concentrated toner tank TCT to a liquid toner tank TLT is decided by the ECU 91 based on the liquid toner consumption, then, the electromagnetic solenoid 92 is operated for a prescribed time so as to hold the concentration of the liquid toner in the target concentration. At this time, print information is inputted by the print data control circuit 98 to the control means 90, the correcting means 95 is provided with a concentration measuring unit 96 and an ECU 97, and the concentration of the liquid toner is held in the target concentration.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an electrophotographic device and the electrophotographic method capable of switching the peripheral speed of an intermediate transfer drum without disturbing a toner image on the intermediate transfer drum. CONSTITUTION:This electrophotographic device is provided with an intermediate transfer drum 66 having an intermediate transfer sheet 72 on the outer periphery which is periodically brought into rolling contact with a photosensitive drum 24, a rotation angle sensor 114 detecting the transit of a gap 78 when the gap 78 of the intermediate transfer sheet 72 passes through the photosensitive drum 24 and outputting the detection signal, and a controller 108 switching the peripheral speed of the intermediate transfer drum 66 when the detection signal is received from the rotation angle sensor 114.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect even a flaw which causes neither transmitted light nor reflected light to shift in peak position by providing plural photosensors and detecting outputs of photosensors other than photosensors which detect the main light of the transmitted or reflected light. CONSTITUTION:A light receiving part S is arranged on the rear surface side of, for example, a sheet body 1 to be inspected and consists of the photosensors S1, S2 ... arrayed in matrix. One photosensor is almost as large as a circular light beam transmitted through the sheet body 1. When a light beam transmitted through a nondefective sheet body 1 reaches the sensor S5, the beam is received only by the sensor S5 and none of other sensors detects it. If the sheet body 1 has a flow an elliptic image is formed on the light receiving part S, so sensors other than the sensor S5 also detect the light even although the position of the main light is on the sensor S5. For the purpose, a detection part D removes the output of the sensor S5 and detects the outputs of the sensors at its periphery to detect the flaw.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a special photodetector and to improve S/N, etc., by changing the intensity of light beams before and after detecting by means of the photodetector, matching the intensity with the output characteristic of the photodetector when detecting is performed and matching it with the photosensitive characteristic of a photosensitive body after writing is begun. CONSTITUTION:The scanning locus of the light beams is provided with the photodetector 5 and the photosensitive body 6 is provided on the back of the photodetector 5 in the scanning direction of the light beams. The photodetector 5 detects that the light beams during scanning come above the photodetector 5. After a specified time lapses, writing on the photosensitive body 6 is begun. The intensity of the light beams is matched with the output characteristic of the photodetector 5 when detecting is performed. The intensity is matched with the photosensitive characteristic of the photosensitive body 6 after writing is begun. Thus, even in high-density printing, an inexpensive silicon photodiode, etc., can be used as to photodetector 5 so that an expensive photodetector is not required.
