Abstract: A process for improving fluidity of hydrocarbon fractions by dewaxing thereof is described. In the process, hydrocarbon fractions are contacted with hydrogen in the presence of a specific type of catalyst, thereby lowering the pour point of the hydrocarbon fraction. The catalyst comprises a specific type of zeolite which is defined by a specific X-ray diffraction pattern (such as that shown in Fig. 1) and which has a mesitylene adsorption not less than 1.8 wt%.

SOLUTION: In a method for preparing a sheet-like article wherein a resin is extruded into the sheet-like article from a nozzle and wound after molding, movement of a thickness meter provided between the nozzle 1 and a winding machine 11 and moving in the width direction of the sheet-like article is stopped based on a signal from other processes and the thickness in the longitudinal direction of a sheet-like article is measured at the stopping position.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermoplastic polymer sheet excellent in thickness uniformity even when a polymer poor to static electricity applying properties is molded into a sheet shape. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic polymer sheet in a molten state is emitted to a moving cooling member 3 in a sheet farm from a cap 1 and static charge is applied to the emitted sheet by a wire-shaped discharge electrode 5 to closely bond the sheet to the moving cooling member 3 to produce the thermoplastic polymer sheet. In this manufacturing method, when the melt specific resistance value R at 280 deg.C of the thermoplastic polymer sheet is R>=5×10 (Ω.cm), as the discharge electrode 5, a wire satisfying 2,500ϕ >=F>=1,000ϕg and 1.0>=ϕ>=0.15 (mm) between a wire diameter ϕ (mm) and wire tension F (N) is used.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the uneven sheet thickness due to voltage waveform as a main cause by a method wherein the waveform and phase of voltage output, which is applied by a high-voltage generator to a discharge electrode, are variably controlled in synchronization with the change of the thickness of a produced sheet. CONSTITUTION:A discharge electrode 6 is held at high potential by being applied with high voltage generated by a high-voltage generator 5. The change of the thickness of the sheet in contact with a cooling roller is monitored with a thickness measuring apparatus 7 installed just after the point of contact of the sheet with the roller. Obtained thickness change waveform signal is sent to a waveform signal analyzer 7 so as to be analyzed in order to express the signal in terms of the sum of a plurality of sinusoidal waves. Control signals generating potential change to apply periodic waveforms, the frequencies and amplitudes of which are equal to and the phases of which are shifted 180 degrees to each of split up sinusoidal waves, are sent from the analyzer 8 to the high-voltage generator 5 in order to variably control the potential of the discharge electrode 6 as mentioned above.
