Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat display device capable of preventing display quality from being lowered by charging of a spacer while securing sufficient strength. SOLUTION: A spacer structural body 40 disposed between a face plate 10 and a rear plate 20 is provided with an electrode plate 42, plural first spacers 48 abutting on the rear plate formed on the first main face side of the electrode plate, and plural second spacers 50 abutting on the face plate formed on the second main face side of the electrode plate. The plural second spacers are connected to one first spacer by a connecting part 52 through an opening 46 formed respectively in the electrode plate. Each first spacer is formed so as to have a smaller aspect ratio than the second spacer.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate the adjustment of deflectors so as to obtain an image tube without any color shade by constituting a deflector of main and auxiliary deflectors, wherein the main deflector has a pin cushion type magnetic field while the auxiliary deflector has a barrel type magnetic field. CONSTITUTION:A deflector 21 comprises a main deflector 22 and an auxiliary deflector 23. The main deflector 22 has a pin cushion type vertical deflecting magnetic field while the auxiliary deflector 23 has a barrel type vertical deflecting magnetic field, wherein the deflecting magnetic field of a color image tube is enlarged toward the auxiliary deflector 23 side beyond a deflection center of the whole tube. With this constitution, the adjustment of a deflecting current flowing through the deflectors 22, 23 can shift the deflection center lengthwise in a direction of the axis of the tube, and further, electrically regulate the color purity on the periphery of a screen. Moreover, the barrel type magnetic field can eliminate any shift of convergence on the axis of alignment of a plurality of beams, thereby making oscillation unnecessary. Therefore, the adjustment of the deflectors can be facilitated, and the image tube without any color shade can be obtained. The horizontal and vertical deflecting magnetic fields of the auxiliary deflector 23 may be asymmetric with respect to the vertical and horizontal axes.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the formability of a cathode-ray tube envelope and obtain the cathode-ray tube envelope and a cathode-ray exceeding in the mass production by using the metal at one part of the cathode-ray tube envelope, especially at the part having the intricate shape. CONSTITUTION:The first envelope 4 which consists of a face-plate 2 having the rectangular shaped flat surface and a side wall 3 extending to the direction along the center line from near the peripheral part of the face-plate 2, and the third envelope 6 having the main surface practically in parallel with the face-plate 2, are provided. The second envelope having one end enclosing the outer wall 3 of the first envelope 4 and air-tightly connected through the connected material so as to apply the compressive stress in the direction toward the center line of the face-plate 2, and the other end integrally connected or formed with the third envelope 6, is provided. Thereby, the shape of the funnel can be simplified so as to improve the formability and make the structure fittable for the mass production.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the formability of a cathode-ray tube envelope and reduce the distortion by heat generated at respective part of the envelope during the heating process by using the metal at one part of the cathode-ray envelope, especially at the intermediate part of a funnel having the intricate shape and the connected part. CONSTITUTION:In a cathode-ray tube envelope, a metal 6 is used at one part of a funnel 8 having intricate shape. At this stage since the first intermediate member 7 is located between a metal connecting member 6 and a funnel 8, and the second intermediate member 5 is located between a glass pannel and the metal connecting member 6, an envelope with low price and having the intricate shape can be obtained. Thereby, the shape of the funnel 8 can be simplified so as to sharply improve the formability and the structure becomes fittable for the mass production. And the heat capacity distribution can be uniformalized so that the distortion by heat during the manufacturing process can be sharply reduced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make a color image of high definition and convergence all over a faceplate, by optionally reducing the distance between electron beams entering into a deflection surface. CONSTITUTION:Since the distance Sg between three electron beams on a deflection center surface 18 is substantially determined by the degree of small deflection based on convergence electrodes 29a, 29b, the distance can be optionally reduced to decrease a deflecting magnetic field imbalance which the three electron beams suffer. Deflectional aberration is thus diminished equally for the three electron beams to provide three good beam spots even at the periphery of faceplate 2. Besides, the quality of convergence is much improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve considerably the quality of landing especially at an extra large size color picture tube by providing a coil approximately around the periphery of the panel of the tube and supplying current of a proper value through the coil.
CONSTITUTION: A panel 24 is fixed airtightly to the large open end of a funnel part 23 of a funnel-like form, in the neck part 22 of which is an electron gun 21 contained by welding. On the interior face of the faceplate part 25 of the panel 24, a fluorescent screen 26 is formed. And a mask part 27 is assembled with a proper distance with this fluorescent screen 26. To this mask part 27, a shield part 28 is fixed at its one end, which extends in one direction of the electron gun. Also, along the periphery of the panel, a coil that can accept proper ampares 29 is provided. As to the characteristic of the coil 29, the current is made variable so that electron beam-move quantity occur when a magnetic flux is applied by, for instance, a DC current of 10 AT (ampereturm). By means of the above, the electron beam-move quantity of an extra large size color picture tube can be decreased down to a level that invites almost no problem, by flowing DC of appropriate AT to the correcting coil of the tube.

Further, a two- sheet bipolarly magnetized ring magnet set 10 is arranged outside of the neck part 11 between the deflection device 8 and the reguration member 9 thus enabling to regurate the shape of a beam spot by regurating its position. Accordingly, the distortion in the shape of the beam spot can be simply regurated from outside of the neck 11 after assembly of the electron gun while improving peripheral resolution and uniformity.
