Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an amino acid ester useful as organic industrial chemicals efficiently, economically and in high purity without causing unreacted substances, by reacting an amino acid with an alcohol while taking out water formed by reaction together with the raw material alcohol from the system. CONSTITUTION:An amino acid is reacted with an alcohol to give an amino acid ester. In the operation, the reaction is carried out while taking out water formed by the reaction together with the raw material alcohol from the system. The reaction temperature depends on pressure in the system and pressure to make the reaction system >=50 deg.C, preferably >=65 deg.C is preferable. More prefer ably the reaction is carried out under pressure at >=80 deg.C, addition of an acid (e.g., HCl or H2SO4) as a catalyst is suppressed and the amount of an alkali to be used for neutralization of the acid after the completion of the reaction is lessened. By this method, phenylalanyl methyl ester can be simply made into a level of

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide novel Pseudomonas putida TS-15001 having a high ability to produce alpha-APE by adjusting a culturing solution prepared from the cultured medium, the cultured bacterial cells thereof collected from the cultured medium, the washed bacterial cells, etc. CONSTITUTION:The cultured product of Pseudomonas putida TS-15001 (FERM 159) or a treated product thereof such as a cultured medium by culturing the strain in a nutritious medium, the bacterial cells collected from the cultured medium, etc., the washed bacterial cells, the dried cells or ground cells by treating the bacterial cells or the digested products of the bacterial cells by an autodigestion method are prepared. The cultured product of the microorganismic strain or the treated product is brought into contact with fumaric acid, ammonia and L-phenylalanine lower alkyl ester to synthesize alpha-APE (alpha-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine lower alkyl ester).

Abstract: PURPOSE:To purify an aqueous solution of a dipeptide ester containing organic acids by supplying the solution to a treating chamber separated by an anion exchange membrane and a cation exchange membrane and treating under a specific condition, thereby easily removing the impurity organic acids in high efficiency. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution of a dipeptide ester containing organic acids as impurities is supplied to a treating chamber separated from the other chambers of an electrolytic cell with an anion exchange membrane and a cation exchange membrane, brought into contact with an electrolytic solution interposing the anion exchange membrane therebetween and electrified with electrodes placed outside of the treating chamber while keeping the pH of the electrolytic solution to

Abstract: PURPOSE:To complete racemization reaction within a short time under high temperature and pressure condition to cause decomposition of amino acid and to obtain racemized product at low apparatus and production costs while suppressing the formation of impurities, by heating an optically active amino acid in an aqueous solution in alkaline region in the presence of an alkali metal salt. CONSTITUTION:An optically active amino acid such as L-phenylalanine is dissolved in water and obtained aqueous solution is heated at >=100 deg.C in an alkaline region (preferably >=10pH) in the presence of an alkali metal salt (especially salt of Li, Na or K at a concentration of >=0.2M) to effect the racemization of the amino acid. The racemization proceeds at a high reaction rate without causing decomposition and polymerization of the amino acid.
