Abstract:
A powder recovery apparatus comprising a cyclone body to separate powder particles from a suspended form and a powder sieve device to separate out reusable powder, wherein the powder sieve device is positioned to the side of the cyclone body. An intermediary powder storage chamber is provided beneath the cyclone body, and powder is fed from this chamber to the powder sieve device by a transfer pump.
Abstract:
A honeycomb filter production apparatus includes: a workpiece securing section (10) for securing a base of a honeycomb filter (11); a powder transfer section (20) that is disposed on one side of the workpiece securing section (10), and transfers a powder together with an air current by utilizing pressurized gas; an introduction section (40) that is provided between the powder transfer section (20) and the workpiece securing section (10), the powder transferred from the powder transfer section (20) together with the air current being mixed with another gas in the introduction section (40), and introduced into the base secured by the workpiece securing section (10) when the apparatus is used; a suction section (30) that is disposed on the other side of the workpiece securing section (10), and sucks the gas that has passed through the base secured by the workpiece securing section (10) by reducing pressure on the other side of the workpiece securing section (10) as compared with the one side of the workpiece securing section (10) using suction means; a cleaning section (50) for removing a surplus powder adhering to an end face of the base after the introduction of the powder; a judgment section (60) for judging an amount of the powder adhering to the base; and a workpiece transfer section (70) for transferring the base among the workpiece securing section (10), the cleaning section (50), and the judgment section (60).
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a force feed method of powder in a powder coating system. SOLUTION: This pump for particulate materials including a pump chamber has the pump chamber for making a material flow in under negative pressure and making the material flow out under positive pressure. A plurality of pinch valves are provided to control flow of the materials into and out of the pump chamber. The pinch valves are operated independent of each other and of a pump cycle rate. A modular design of the pump is provided. A pump control feature is provided for air flow rate control during positive and negative pressure conditions. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
An apparatus for spraying powder coating material includes a rotatable turret which moves articles to and from a work station. A powder spray gun is operable to spray a pattern onto each of the articles in turn while the article is at the work station. The powder flows through the spray gun as a series of pulses. A diverter assembly is operable to divert a portion of each pulse of powder away from the nozzle to more sharply define the pulse. An excess powder collector draws a flow of powder away from the work station. A virgin powder container supplies powder to a powder collector container which supplies powder to a powder feed container which supplies powder to the spray gun. Sensors associated with the virgin, collector and feed containers ensure that a predetermined quantity of powder is maintained in each container. During transport of powder from the virgin and collector containers, the containers and their associated pumps are vibrated to facilitate the flow of powder. The powder spray gun is mounted on a three axis adjustment assembly to enable the powder spray gun nozzle to be accurately positioned relative to an article at the work station.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means which can manufacture a honeycomb filter having excellent quality, made by forming a collecting layer having a uniform thickness on the surface of a substrate made of a porous body, with a high yield.SOLUTION: A honeycomb filter manufacturing apparatus has a work fixing portion 10 for fixing the substrate, a powder transfer portion 20 disposed on one side of the work fixing portion 10 and transferring a powder together with an air flow by using a pressurized gas, an introduction portion 40 for further mixing the powder, transferred together with the air flow from the powder transfer portion 20, with another air flow between the powder transfer portion 20 and the work fixing portion 10 and introducing the powder to the substrate fixed to the work fixing portion 10 when the apparatus is used, a suction portion 30 disposed on the other side of the work fixing portion 10 and sucking the air flow, passing through the substrate, by reducing the pressure of the other side of the work fixing portion 10 relative to that of the one side thereof using a suction means, a cleaning portion 50 for removing excessive powder adhering to the end surface of the substrate after the introduction of the powder, a determining portion 60 for determining the adhering amount of the powder, and a work transfer portion 70 for transferring the substrate.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to an improved method and apparatus for the application of powdered resins to threaded fasteners (24). In accordance with the present invention, the powdered resin handling system (10) used to apply, collect, recycle and make-up the resin is generally enclosed; that is, with the exception of the application of the resin to the fasteners (24), the resin is generally maintained within conduit, housings or hoppers that are not open to the surroundings. This tends to minimize discharge of resin into the areas surrounding the fastener (24) processing equipment and also isolates the resin from external environmental conditions that tend to degrade the resin over time. In addition, the present invention introduces fresh, new or make-up resin in a manner that assures intimate and thorough intermixing of the new and recycled resin while minimizing the cost and complexity of the equipment employed for that purpose.
