The present is a method to radially displace liquid liner inside a pipe, comprising flowing the liner around a distributive body placed within a pipe gas stream. As the gas streams past the distributive body, the liner coats the pipe homogeneously from top to bottom.

Embodiments described herein relate generally to devices, systems and methods for producing liquid impregnated surfaces with enhanced durability. In some embodiments, a liquid-impregnated surface includes a first surface having a first roll off angle. A plurality of solid features are disposed on the first surface, such that a plurality of interstitial regions are defined between the plurality of solid features. An impregnating liquid is disposed in the interstitial regions. Furthermore, the interstitial regions are dimension and configured such that that the surface remains impregnated by the impregnating liquid. The impregnating liquid disposed in the interstitial regions defines a second surface which has a second roll off angle less than the first roll off angle. The apparatus also includes a liquid delivery mechanism configured to transfer the impregnating liquid to the interstitial regions.

A powder coating apparatus (10) and method are provided for feeding fine powdered coating material (16) such as thermoplastic type material to a succession of discrete articles (12) passing by the apparatus (10). The invention also provides a powder feed system that deposits an excess of powdered coating material (16) than that required to form the coating and provides for recirculation of the powder (16) not ultimately used to form the coating back to the powder feeding apparatus (10).

A process allows the space-intensive post-processing section of a state-of-the-art can body blank coating plant to be dispensed with by using a quick-setting coating material. In addition, the can body blank coating plant is itself substantially simplified, since the coating is brought in its basic, unprocessed form up to the preparation unit, and is only there brought to a fluid state suitable for coating.

A superhydrophobic surface includes a plurality of microfeatures disposed on a substrate and a gas generator disposed within the microfeatures, the gas generator configured to generate a gas within the microfeatures. Gas is generated within the microfeatures when at least a portion of the microfeatures is in a wetted state to restore the microfeatures to a dewetted state. Gas generation is self-regulating in that gas generation automatically starts when a wetted condition exists and stops when sufficient gas has been generated to recover a dewetted state that restores superhydrophobicity.
