    Abstract: Piece of furniture, in particular a cabinet unit, having a furniture body which comprises side walls, a base and a cover wall and which can be closed and opened by means of a folding door arrangement 1 which has at least two folding door elements 2, 3 which can be pivoted towards one another about a horizontal pivot axis during an opening operation of the folding door arrangement 1 and can be pivoted away from one another about the horizontal pivot axis during a closing operation of the folding door arrangement 1, wherein one 3 of the at least two folding door elements 2, 3 is movably guided in the course of its opening pivoting movement along vertically oriented sliding guides 10 and the at least two folding door elements 2, 3 can be transferred into a substantially horizontally oriented raised opening intermediate position, from which they are movable through a horizontally oriented movement translationally along horizontal guides 14 into their opening end position within the furniture body, wherein at least one of the at least two folding door elements 2, 3 is movable into its raised opening intermediate position by a first motor drive 11 and from the opening intermediate position into its opening end position by a second motor drive 12.

A driven wheel is rotatably mounted on the frame and connected to the power source via the drive train. The panel may further include a lift system including a second power source, a lift mechanism, and a lift drive which are contained internally within the stiles and rails of the frame. The power sources, drive train, lift mechanism, and lift drive may be contained completely inside the stiles and rails of the frame. The movement of the panel along a fixed path, and the raising and lowering of the panel, may be regulated by a control system. The control system includes a microcontroller and sensor used to determine the position of the panel.

    Abstract: Presented herein is a novel sliding door system that that enables adjustment of at least two sliding doors relative to each other such that surfaces of the sliding doors create a substantially flush surface a support onto which the sliding door mechanism is mounted. The system includes at least one inner and outer sliding door slidably coupled to corresponding guide rails. The guide rail that is coupled to the outer sliding door is selectably moveable by a sliding door mechanism between a first and a second position. In the first position, a user can slide outer and inner sliding doors along said guide rails, whereas in the second position, a surface of the outer sliding door is substantially flush with a surface of said inner sliding door.

    Abstract: The mechanism comprises longitudinal rails and, for each door, a double slide assembly of which a first slide slides along the rails and a second slide, constrained to the door, moves at right angles to the first slide between a retracted position in which the door is closed and an extracted position in which the door is opened, at a distance from said first position at least equal to the thickness of the door or a multiple thereof. A longitudinal traverse of the slide assembly is allowed only when the second slide is in the extracted position with respect to the first. The retracted position is forced by spring means between the second slide and the first slide. The width of the slide assembly is smaller than the width of the door, generally being half, a third or a quarter thereof. In a wardrobe with a plurality of doors, the mechanism allows any one of the doors to be opened with exactly the same extracting and sliding movement; it also allows more than one compartment to be opened at the same time, in practice as many as all the doors of wardrobe but one, in front of which the doors are disposed parallel to each other.

    Abstract: A sliding wing door, as used in railway and similar installations, is disclosed, of the kind in which the door, as it is opened, is first thrust out of its doorspace and slid alongside the vehicle body, the improvement consisting in that one of the component parts of the telescopable guide of the door panel is secured to the movable members of at least two linear ejectors intended to thrust the door panel out of the doorspace. Advantageously, the axes of the two (or more) linear ejectors are inclined through an angle of from 45.degree. to 90.degree. relative to the door space plane. A vertical shaft, mounted parallel and adjacent to the door post provides the initial movement of the door in a direction parallel to the ejector axes: the angle of rotation of the shaft is appropriately limited consistently with the necessity. Certain translation movements of component parts of the mechanism are aided by sets of rollers sliding on specially provided rolling paths.

    Abstract: The door comprises two panels (2) slidable in a straight line towards and away from each other and mounted on a frame which, in turn,can move between a position of substantial alignment with the outer surface of the vehicle and a position outside this surface. The sliding of each panel (2) from the closed position towards the open position is thus effected by means of a translational movement of the frame (3,4) and a sliding movement of the actual panel (2) on the frame (3,4), performed in ordered sequence.
