Abstract:
A pneumatically actuated valve assembly for use as intake and/or exhaust valves on two- or four-stroke internal combustion engines. The assembly includes a valve (100), valve housing (200), and compressed gas distribution and timing mechanisms (Figures 5-8). The valve (100) is comprised of a short light weight hollow cylindrical body with a capped lower end and an opened upper end. The valve is further defined by a plurality of ports (104) adjacent to the lower end and a collar (198) encircling the body adjacent the upper end. The valve housing (200) is hollow and tubular having a larger diameter upper section and a smaller diameter lower section in which the valve (100) slides up to close and down to open. The housing (200) further includes hollow channels which direct compressed gas, managed by the distribution and timing mechanism, alternately towards the areas above and below the valve collar at regular intervals to open and close the valve, respectively.
Abstract:
A valve control arrangement for internal combustion engines in which a hydraulic valve actuator with integral fluid reservoir is interactive with two camshafts (110, 120) to continuously and independently vary the valve duration. A modified intake system is provided to increase the effective area of the valves.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The device has an exhaust gas removing channel (106) flowing into an exhaust pipe (105) of an internal combustion engine. An annular passage (120) is arranged directly after a valve disk (101) in a flow direction of exhaust gas, such that an exhaust gas partial flow arrives into the passage using dynamic pressure of the exhaust gas. A valve (130) is provided in the channel, and the passage is arranged in a partial cross sectional region of the exhaust pipe. An inner contour of the channel forms a diffuser in the passage. An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine including an auxiliary device connected to a turbine.
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To ensure a large port area for simplifying the arrangement of a valve operating mechanism, by carrying out the intake and exhaust with the use of one common port. CONSTITUTION:In a cylinder head 2, there are formed an intake/exhaust port 3 and intake and exhaust passages 11, 12 communicated with the intake/exhaust port 3. An intake/exhaust valve 6 opens and closes the intake/exhaust port 3. Control valves 13, 14 such as, for example, reed valves, which are opened and closed in association with pressure differential, and disposed in the intake and exhaust passages 11, 12, respectively. The intake/exhaust valve 6 continuously opens during successive exhaust and intake strokes, and the intake and exhaust are controlled by the controlled valves 13, 14 which open and close. Since only a single port may be formed in one cylinder so that the area of this port may be made large, thereby only one valve actuating mechanism is sufficient so that the arrangement thereof may be simplified.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for extracting a partial exhaust gas flow and an internal combustion engine equipped therewith, particularly, a device for a partial exhaust flow from the exhaust pipe of the internal combustion engine and the internal combustion engine equipped with an exhaust gas recirculating system. SOLUTION: The device for extracting the partial exhaust flow from the exhaust pipe 105 of the internal combustion engine comprises a partial exhaust pipe 106 opened to the exhaust pipe 105, the partial exhaust pipe having an intake part arranged substantially facing the exhaust gas flow so that the partial exhaust flow can flow into the intake part of the partial exhaust pipe 106 during a time when utilizing the dynamic pressure of the exhaust flow. The device is arranged right near flow control members 101, 104 of the internal combustion engine. A valve is provided in the partial exhaust pipe 106 for optimizing the extraction of the partial exhaust flow. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
