Abstract:
A rubber or plastic sliding member coated with a material having excellent durability and high slipperiness, wherein the coating material is composed of a solid lubricant such as molybdenum disulfide and a resin matrix comprising a fluoroolefin vinyl ether polymer resin and/or a fluoroolefin vinyl ether/vinyl ester copolymer resin.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A protective coating system is described that is characterized by fluid impermeability and a reduced coefficient of friction. The coating system includes a carbide-based thermal spray composition; a low friction layer; and a sealant impregnated into the low friction layer. Unlike conventional materials, the coating systems of the present invention achieve and maintain sealing surfaces, without adversely impacting lubricity, wear resistance and corrosion resistance during the service life of the coated component.
Abstract:
Embodiments described herein relate generally to large scale synthesis of thinned graphite and in particular, few layers of graphene sheets and graphene-graphite composites. In some embodiments, a method for producing thinned crystalline graphite from precursor crystalline graphite using wet ball milling processes is disclosed herein. The method includes transferring crystalline graphite into a ball milling vessel that includes a grinding media. A first and a second solvent are transferred into the ball milling vessel and the ball milling vessel is rotated to cause the shearing of layers of the crystalline graphite to produce thinned crystalline graphite.
Abstract:
To provide a coating composition for a lubricating coating film capable of forming a lubricating coating film having a high level of flexibility on surfaces of various base materials. A coating composition for a lubricating coating film including: (A) a phenolic resin, (B) an epoxy resin having an epoxy equivalent weight of 600 to 4000, and (C) at least one type of solid lubricant; and having a weight ratio of component (A) to the total weight of component (A) and component (B) of at least 50 weight %.
Abstract:
The invention relates to pistons for internal combustion engines having a skirt coating consisting of a wear-resistant inner layer consisting of a polymer matrix having ceramic particles, aramide fibres and/or carbon fibres dispersed therein and an outer layer consisting of a polymer matrix having solid lubricants dispersed therein.
Abstract:
An electric submersible motor is provided that includes a plurality of rotors and bearings mounted on a shaft, and a stator external to said rotors. A running clearance is located between an inner diameter of the stator and external diameter of the rotors, and includes a lubricating oil that includes a base hydrocarbon oil and a plurality of nanoparticles. Also provided is an improved lubricant oil and method of preparation thereof are provided. The lubricant oil includes a hydrocarbon containing base oil and a plurality of nanoparticles. The nanoparticles may be present in an amount up to 30% by volume.
