    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate noises of an image, by receiving ultrasonic Doppler information signals from a space position in a stereoscopic area in a body and measuring the Doppler power intensity. SOLUTION: A multielement convertor 12 of an ultrasonic probe 10 transmits an ultrasonic energy into a patient's body and receives ultrasonic echoes returned from a structure in the patient's body. The received signals are amplified by a transceiver 14 and properly delayed by a beam generator 16 and summed up to make equalized phase signals. The echo signals are demodulated by an I.Q demodulator 18 into orthogonal components, the sizes of Dappler signal power are calculated by a Doppler power calculator 24, and the obtained Doppler signal power intensity is overlapped on an image of the structure in a body by a B mode processor 30 and displayed in three dimensions on a display 40.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an array converter easily and inexpensively, without giving big damages to a converter ceramic by coupling a projection curved converter array with a packing member formed to be a curve and cutting the coupled array into small cubes to obtain conversion elements. SOLUTION: Gold coating is applied to a floor face 142 of a packing block 40, where ends 54 of conductive parts 52 of a flexible circuit 50 are arranged in a line to connect the ends 54 electrically. Gold coating is applied to both sides of a bar 150 of a composite array at which an angle between a pattern and a calf of a composite array is 10 deg., the bar is placed on the floor 142, an acoustic matching layer sheet 160 is placed on the bar 150 and the gold coating surface of the floor face 142 and that of the bar 150 are connected electrically through press bonding. Then the bar 150 is cut into cubes by a cube cutter 164 to obtain a converter array element 110. Thus, an array converter with high performance, suppressing unwanted resonance mode and low acoustic impedance is easily manufactured at a low cost.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable access from a remote place by using hardware and software obtainable at the market, and performing ultrasonic diagnostic image processing by connecting them to a network. SOLUTION: A server 30 of a hypertext transfer protcol(HTTP) is incorporated into an ultrasonic device 10. This HTTP server 30 is used for access to an ultrasonic image and a report in a storage medium 24. Access from a personal computer, a terminal or a work station of a remote place becomes possible to the image and the report of the device 10. The server 30 is connected to the ultrasonic device 10 through a communication network 40 by an electric wire 42 or by wireless 44 by a modem 32. Therefore, a user who gets access can use diagnostic information of the ultrasonic device 10.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remotely improve performance by transporting a probe from a central stock site by air and by transferring program data required for an ultrasonic diagnostic device to control and operate the probe from a factory to the ultrasonic diagnostic device using an electronic way through an information network. SOLUTION: A medical ultrasonic diagnostic device 100 is connected to an AC power supply 102 and to a communication network using a connector 104. A hardware used to improve the performance of the ultrasonic diagnostic device 100 is directly supplied using an air cargo by an airplane 114, and data used to improve the performance is directly transferred to the user side from a performance-improving data server 120. The performance-improving data server 120 is connected to the AC power supply outlet and to the communication network connector 104 through a communication media 110 and 112 to improve the performance of the ultrasonic diagnostic device data. This remotely improves the performance of a new or other converter probe. or allows the performance to have other characteristics.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide magnified display of an appointed part of an ultrasonic image by preparing a selector to select a magnified part of an ultrasonic image being displayed and a filter to vary the band width of ultrasonic information displayed corresponding to the magnifying power for a selected part. SOLUTION: An echo signal received by a ultrasonic scan head 40 which scans through an image sector 10 is filtered at a band-pass filter 62, then detected at a detector 64 and composes a baseband echo signal. Detected each signals are logarithmically compressed and only the lower frequency is filtered through a variable low frequency filter 70, memorized in an image memory 80, converted at a scan converter 90 and display at a display 100. The band width of the filter 70 varies in response to both the size of displaying area in which the picture information emerges and the density of picture element. An input unit which gives a controller 72 information about the size of the whole original picture decides the ratio between the whole picture image and the zoomed image area to define the variation of band width.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To grasp the inserted state of a clinical instrument in a body, e.g. a needle for biological test being used by a physician, and the position of a target visually by disregarding the arrangement of the instrument through ultrasonic imaging and an acoustic indicator. CONSTITUTION: A needle 10 for examining a biological tissue having an ultrasonic receiver 22 at the tip thereof pierces a skin 15 and enters into a body, in order to detect an ultrasonic wave radiated from an ultrasonic imaging probe 14. The needle 10 generates a control signal variable as a function of the unit quantity of receiving energy and modulates an audible indicator. Consequently, the situation where a clinical instrument approaches and traverses an image plane can be indicated as an audible sound using a speaker 90. Furthermore, a visual marker is generated, as an image display which is indicative of the position of the instrument in the body on an ultrasonic imaging system 16. When the instrument traverses the plane, the visual marker is modulated, and a physician can visually recognized the situation.
