PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic field direction detector.SOLUTION: The magnetic field direction detector detects whether a magnetic flux has a component of field from a first side or a second side of a detection axis or not and comprises a first magneto-resistive sensor and a perturbation generator. The perturbation generator causes an external magnetic field to be pe perturbed, and as a result, an apparent direction of flux is changed by an angle θat the first magneto-resistive sensor. The magnetic field direction detector further comprises a second magneto-resistive sensor, and the apparent direction of flux is changed by an angle θat the second magneto-resistive sensor due to the perturbation generator. Thus relative resistances of the first and second magneto-resistive sensors vary with respect to each other.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an architecture for a high speed serial transmitter.SOLUTION: A system provides for a serial transmitter with multiplexing and driving functionality that is combined into a single stage to increase the overall speed of the serial transmitter. The single stage includes a dynamic impedance that is configured in parallel with a multiplexing driver to reduce an input capacitance and set the correct output impedance. The single stage can be implemented as a stacked or cross-coupled XOR logic circuit or a stacked or cross-coupled multiplexer ("mux") as the multiplexing driver. In an embodiment where a mux is used as the multiplexing driver, a clock can be injected into the mux driver to overcome inter-symbol interference.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suitable microphone.SOLUTION: A method for making up a microphone includes: etching at least one trench in a substrate; forming a back plate by partially filling the at least one trench with at least one sacrificial material; forming a flexible diaphragm on top of at least part of a liquid etch removable layer; adding a photoresist layer, part of the photoresist forming a pedestal between the diaphragm and the back plate in order to support the diaphragm; removing the liquid etch removable material from the reverse side of the substrate via the at least one trench before the photoresist is removed; and removing the pedestal after part of the liquid etch removable material is removed.
