Abstract:
A photo-induced phase transition organic material is composed of a diheteroarylethene-based compound within which the photo-chromic reaction occurs in the crystalline state. The diheteroarylethene-based compound of the present invention reversibly changes in color with light irradiation and also changes in phase from the open-ring form in the crystalline state to the closed-ring form in the crystalline state, or from the closed-ring form in the crystalline state to the open-ring form in the crystalline state via the liquid state, and can be applicable to optical recording media, display panels, sensors, optical switch devices and the like, by taking advantages of its variations in color with light irradiation and also its changes in physical property, such as the refractive index and the permeability, with its changes in phase.
Abstract:
A normal regenerated tissue is formed by exposing to radiation a connective tissue or a supporting tissue originating in an organ to thereby form a feeder layer and then transplanting epithelial cells thereon to form a stratified structure. By conveniently and surely providing regenerated tissue by the 3-dimensional culture with the use of a human-origin normal tissue as a base, it is possible to construct systems for assessing effects and side effects of chemicals such as drugs or assessing sensitivities thereof with the use of regenerated tissues as models of corresponding tissues respectively.
Abstract:
A micro electron gun that is capable of extracting electrons from a semiconductor utilizing a quantum size effect and that can be mounted individually for each of pixels is disclosed, as well as a picture display apparatus using such electron guns which is high in quantum efficiency, of high brightness and thin, as well as methods of manufacture thereof. Conduction electrons from a n-type semiconductor substrate (2) are accelerated under an electric field through a layer or layers (4) of quantum size effect micro particles (3) formed on surfaces of the n-type semiconductor substrate (2) and passed therethrough without undergoing phonon scattering, so that they when arriving at an electrode (5) may possess an amount of energy not less than the work function of the electrode (5) and are thus allowed to spring out into a vacuum. Such a quantum size effect micro particle (3) comprises a micro particle of a single crystal semiconductor in a nanometer order having electron energy levels made so discrete that no phonon scattering is brought about, and on its surface area an insulator so thin that an electron is capable of tunneling therethrough.
Abstract:
A photochromic material having a ring opening quantum yield of 10null3 or lower which does not fade under ambient light is provided. The material comprises a compound belonging to the diheteroarylethene class. The compound has alkoxy group and aryl group on the heteroaryl group.
Abstract:
A three-dimensional image display system utilizing both a light beam reproducing method and a shadowgraph type multi-view parallax method, in which three-dimensional stereoscopic images are observed continuously from the rear to front of the display unit is provided. A color filter (22) is disposed on an observer (23) side of a white-color point light source array (21), and, in an area apart from the color filter (22) and white point light source, light beams emitted from the white-color point light source are selectively colored by the color filter (22) for generating a group of a number of light beams corresponding to a scattered light from each point of an object, while in the region in the vicinity of the point light source and the color filter (22) in which a sufficient number of light beams cannot be reproduced, the light beams are selectively colored by the color filter (22) so that image data reaching the eye from the white-color point light source through the color filter (22) performs a view-dependent parallax type stereoscopic display operation not only laterally but also vertically, and further, in the intermediate region, these two operations are mixed, so that a stereoscopic image is continuously joined to each other.
Abstract:
Capillary columns (102) pass through and are inserted in a rubber plate (14), held and fixed by elastic force of rubber, and two-dimensionally arranged on a sample injection side. It fixes the capillary columns (102) arranged on a plane in close contact by holding the same with a holder plate (6a) from below and with a rubber plate (16) from above on a detection side. In order to press the capillary columns (102) against the holder plate 6a and fix the same with the rubber plate (16), a holder plate (6b) fixing the rubber plate (16) to the holder plate (6a) on both sides of the arrangement of the capillary columns (102) is provided.

Abstract:
The present invention provides efficacious preparations for intravenous administration, preparations for external or topical application to skin, preparations for external or topical application to mucosa or cosmetics comprising ginsenosides, in particular, ginsenoside Rb1 or its derivatives which are useful as skin tissue regeneration/reconstruction promoters or wound healing promoters; and it provides fertilizer additives comprising ginsenosides, in particular, ginsenoside Rb1 or its derivatives which are useful as plant tissue regeneration/reconstruction promoters. These preparations for intravenous administration, preparations for external or topical application to skin, preparations for external or topical application to mucosa or cosmetics are useful particularly for promoting the tissue regeneration/reconstruction in cases of incised wounds, morsus, bite wounds and/or defect of skin or mucosa or for promoting would healing. The above fertilizer additives are useful particularly for hydroponics and raising of farm products.
