Abstract:
Methods for identifying a subject with a cancer eligible for treatment with an inhibitor of a Table 1 molecule, optionally a SRC kinase inhibitor or a MET kinase inhibitor, are provided. The methods comprise testing a biological sample from the subject for a deficiency in EPHB6 receptor levels, wherein the subject is eligible for treatment with an inhibitor of a Table 1 molecule, optionally a SRC kinase inhibitor or a MET kinase inhibitor, if EPHB6 receptor levels in the biological sample are deficient.
Abstract:
The present application includes iron catalysts promoted with Mo, K and optionally Cu on a multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) support for high molecular weight hydrocarbon synthesis from synthesis gas.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides novel endophyte strains or cultures thereof that have a symbiotic relationship with plants. The present disclosure further provides methods of improving seed vitality, biotic and abiotic stress resistance, plant health and yield under both stressed and unstressed environmental conditions, comprising inoculating a seed with the novel endophyte strains and cultivating a plant therefrom.
Abstract:
Nucleic acid molecules encoding polypeptides having polyketide synthase activity have been identified and characterized. Expression or over-expression of the nucleic acids alters levels of cannabinoid compounds in organisms. The polypeptides may be used in vivo or in vitro to produce cannabinoid compounds.
Abstract:
Prion peptides comprising prion epitopes and fusions thereof, that display enhanced immunogenicity are described. Also described are methods of treating and diagnosing prion disease.
Abstract:
Recombinant, chimeric porcine influenza viruses are disclosed that include hemagglutinin segments from more than one influenza virus subtype. Also described are methods of producing the recombinant influenza viruses, immunogenic compositions comprising the recombinant influenza viruses, methods of stimulating an immune response against influenza virus, and methods of treating and preventing influenza virus infection.
Abstract:
A process for the hydrogenolysis of glycerol to produce propylene glycol as the major product comprising contacting the glycerol with hydrogen in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst under conditions for the formation of propylene glycol is disclosed. In particular, propylene glycol is formed with a selectivity of greater than about 90%.
Abstract:
Methods and compositions for enhancing an immune response to a selected antigen are described. The methods are useful for the treatment and prevention of microbial infections, such as infections caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites. The methods and compositions include host defense peptides, polyphosphazenes and immunostimulatory sequences to enhance the immune response to a coadministered antigen.
Abstract:
Methods of purifying O-Ag capsules from an S. enterica NTS serovar, wherein the O-Ag capsule is substantially free of co-expressed cellulose and LPS, are described, as are immunogenic compositions comprising the O-Ag capsules and methods for treating, preventing and diagnosing Salmonella infections. Also described are constructs and methods for producing S. enterica NTS serovar mutants which over-express the O-Ag capsule.
Abstract:
The present application pertains to compositions for enhancing or controlling the germination of seeds. The compositions comprise i) a transition metal catalyst such as nanoparticulate catalyst bearing one or more transition metals, a carbon nanotube impregnated with Fe, Cu, Mo, Rh or Co, or a transition metal salt (FeSO4, CuSO4 or a cobalt salt) and ii) an oxidant such as hydrogen peroxide. The composition may further comprise a buffer. Methods of enhancing or controlling the germination of seeds using the composition are also disclosed.
