A service information providing method and an image device to which the is applied are provided to obtain service information that a connected external device provides, and provide a service list to a user based on the obtained service information, thereby conveniently using the image device. A DVDR(Digital Versatile Disc Recorder) obtains a physical address by performing HPD(HDMI Hot Plug Detection)(S315). A TV controller generates "Give Physical Address" requesting a physical address and transmits the message to a DVDR(S320). A DVDR controller generates "Report Physical Address" and transmits the message to a TV. The DVDR performs ping between the TV and another image device to obtain a logical address of the DVDR(S330). A logical address is allocated to the DVDR by performing ping(S335). The TV controller generates "Give Logical Address" requesting a logical address and transmits the message to the DVDR(S340). The DVDR controller generates "Report Logical Address" and transmits the message to the TV(S345).

A method for managing addresses and an image device applying the same are provided to prevent address collision among A/V(Audio/Video) devices when the other A/V device is connected to the predetermined A/V device while the A/V device connected to the predetermined A/V device enters a power save mode. A DTV(Digital TV) functional block(110) performs signal processes such as decoding and scaling for a broadcasting signal received from a broadcasting station. A DTV HDMI(High Definition Multimedia Interface)(120) is connected to perform communication with external devices(200-1,200-2). A DTV controller(130) obtains an address, and searches the external device using the same address as the obtained address among the connected external devices through the DTV HDMI interface when an address reset command is received from one external device connected through the DTV HDMI interface. The connected external devices is connected according to an HDMI CEC(High Definition Multimedia DTV HDMI interface Consumer Electronics Control) rule.

A client device and a method for streaming contents, and a computer-readable recording medium storing a program thereof are provided to select a server in considering or all bandwidths when a user selects a content item in a list by displaying the list of all contents shared in a P2P and client/server mode playable irrespective of a sharing mode. A P2P middleware(220) supports the P2P mode and a client-server middleware(230) supports the client-server mode. An adaptation manager(240) provides the content list, determines a source device with a node or the server sharing the selected contents, and determines the streaming mode with the mode sharing the contents in the source device. An application part(260) performs control for receiving the contents from the source device through the middleware and a transfer layer corresponding to the determining streaming mode. A storing part(250) stores the received contents. If a content request is received from an external device, the application part performs the control for reading the requested contents from the storing part and transmitting the read contents through the P2P middleware.

A method for having negotiation for sharing a TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access) channel on a PLC(Power Line Communication) network is provided to share channels effectively and to eliminate interference of adjacent cells by preventing the interference from occurring in the process of the negotiation for sharing channels. A method for having negotiation for sharing a TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access) channel on a PLC(Power Line Communication) network includes a step of attempting to make negotiation for sharing channels via a minimum CAP(Contention Access Period) which starts at a point after a maximum beacon period and ends at a point before a CAP of each PLC cell. The maximum beacon period expresses a maximum size which a beacon frame of a super frame transmitted from a coordinator within each PLC cell can have. Each station which attempts to make negotiation for sharing channels registers a negotiation target stations at a DST(Detected Station Table) or a DCT(Detected Cell Table).

A PLC(Power Line Communication) channel information display device and a method therefor are provided to determine channel information through channel estimation to display the determined information to a user, thereby simply testing whether a channel is usable before a PLC device is installed. A channel information determiner(110) determines channel information which contains bandwidths usable by a user in the current PLC network through PLC channel estimation. A channel information display(120) displays the channel information to the user. The determiner comprises as follows. A data frame transmission time determiner(112) determines data frame transmission time required for transmitting overall data frames through the channel estimation. A hierarchical bandwidth calculator(114) divides size of data to be transmitted at each transmission hierarchy by the data frame transmission time, and calculates the bandwidths usable by the user.

본 발명은 유무선 네트워크 환경에서 미디어 컨텐츠를 제공하는 방법 및 장치에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따른 미디어 컨텐츠 일부분 탐색 방법은 멀티미디어 컨텐츠로부터 멀티미디어 컨텐츠에 포함된 미디어 컨텐츠의 시작 지점을 검출하고, 이 시작 지점을 기준으로 미디어 컨텐츠의 일부분을 추출함으로써 미디어 컨텐츠의 종단을 계산하기 어려운 실시간 트랜스코딩의 경우에도 디지털 미디어 클라이언트에 미디어 컨텐츠의 일부분을 제공할 수 있다.

본 발명은 간섭의 동적 저감을 위한 UWB 송수신기 및 송수신 방법에 관한 것으로서, 보다 상세하게는 UWB(Ultra Wide Band) 기술을 이용한 RF 송수신 장치에 있어서, 기존에 사용되고 있는 무선통신의 주파수 대역과 겹치는 주파수 대역에서 생길 수 있는 간섭 등의 문제를 해결하기 위한 방법 및 장치에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 UWB 송수신기는 On/Off 제어 가능하고, 제한된 동작 대역을 가지는 복수의 통신 모듈들, 및 복수의 통신 모듈들의 On/Off를 제어하고, 이에 따른 무선 수신 신호의 대역별 전력 크기를 감지하고, 그리고 상기 감지 결과에 따라 상기 복수의 통신 모듈들의 On/Off를 제어하는 베이스밴드 컨트롤러를 포함하는 UWB 송수신기로 이루어진다. 또한, 본 발명의 UWB 신호 송수신 방법 제한된 동작 대역을 가지는 복수의 통신 모듈의 On/Off 상태에 따른 무선 수신 신호의 대역별 전력 크기를 감지하는 단계, 감지 결과에 따라 상기 제한된 동작 대역을 가지는 복수의 통신 모듈의 On/Off를 제어하는 단계, 및 상기 간섭이 예상되는 대역의 무선 송/수신 신호를 제거하는 단계로 이루어진다.
