PURPOSE: A thumbnail data recording device is provided to record a thumbnail playable by motion pictures to identify a program by assigning a predetermined section of bit streams corresponding to the program as the thumbnail. CONSTITUTION: A thumbnail data recording device includes a control part(51), an encoder(52), and a recording part(53). The control part generates navigation data for defining thumbnail for a program including A/V data. The recording part records the program and records the navigation information provided by the control part to an optical disc(500). The encoder encodes the program when the program is input as non-encoded data and transmits the encoded program data to the recording part. As a section to be assigned by a user as a thumbnail is played, its play-starting/ending inputs are transmitted to the control part, so that the control part generates thumbnail pointer and a map table.

PURPOSE: A thumbnail picture writing method for a menu screen and disk recording media thereof is provided, which has a high correlation with the content of a program which a thumbnail picture is an object of a subject expression. CONSTITUTION: A thumbnail picture writing method for a menu screen comprises the steps of: extracting one frame picture included in a moving picture program when a thumbnail picture(14) expresses the subject of the moving picture program; and extracting a picture included in a still picture program when a thumbnail picture(12) expresses the subject of the still picture program, wherein the thumbnail picture is selected from a thumbnail file having a plurality of thumbnail picture to write and the thumbnail picture is extracted from an intra picture when the moving picture program is MPEG. Thereby, the thumbnail picture having a high correlation with the content of a program is written.
Abstract:
A recordable and/or rewriteable recording medium for storing still picture data, and recording and/or reproducing method and apparatus therefor are provided. The recording medium stores still picture group information (GVOB) for grouping a plurality of still pictures in order to manage the still pictures at a group level, and stores audio group information (GAOB) for grouping additional audio data added to the still picture data after the still picture data are recorded. Therefore, large-capacity still picture data and additional audio data added thereto can be recorded using the minimum management information. During reproduction, data can be displayed and edited in units of the respective still pictures. Also, it is possible to cope easily with after-recording of the audio data.

CONSTITUTION: A recorder having a data structure capable of producing subtitle in relation with title includes a title, at least one or more of subtitles, and link information. The title has audio data and/or video data. The at least one or more of subtitles correspond to the title and has at least one or more of sub-files, which are combined with each other. The link information of the subtitles contains information of a production period of the subtitle and the file name of the sub-files.

PURPOSE: A method for writing information for still pictures is provided to store efficient information related to large volume of still pictures by grouping the still pictures into several groups. CONSTITUTION: It is set whether only still pictures are recorded or the still picture are recorded with the original audio data. Still picture group information is generated to assign group identification. The number of still pictures within a still picture group is set up as '0'. A start position of the still picture group in a file for the still pictures is recorded. It is determined whether a user inputs a still picture record start signal. If so, identification are assigned for the still pictures recorded in a video map while the still pictures are recorded at the file for the still pictures. The number of still pictures in the still picture group information is increased by 1 and the size information of the still pictures in the video map is recorded. It is judged whether a user setup is a mode of recording the still pictures with the original audio. If so, the audio data to the still pictures is recorded continuous to the corresponding still pictures in the file for the still pictures while audio size information is recorded in an audio map. It is judged whether the number of the recorded still pictures constitute one group. If so, another still picture group information is generated to assign group identification.

PURPOSE: A system for recording and/or reproducing information for still images is provided to group still images having large capacity into a plurality of sets to manage the still images in order to store efficient information about the still images. CONSTITUTION: A system for recording and/or reproducing audio data and/or video data on/from a recordable and rewritable recording medium includes a recording processor, and a controller. The recording processor records a plurality of still images in the first area of the recording medium, and records a plurality of additional audio data items added to at least a part of the still images in the second area. The controller generates connection information indicating the connection relationship between the still images stored in the first area and the additional audio data stored in the second area, and reproduction information about reproduction order of the still images and additional audio data. The controller controls the connection information to be recorded in the third area of the recording medium.

PURPOSE: A recordable media for storing virtual deletion information for still pictures is provided to display and edit still pictures of large volume, original audio and secondary audio data in a still picture unit, to correspond to after-recording of the audio data, and to effectively manage information. CONSTITUTION: A recordable media for storing virtual deletion information for still pictures includes a number of still pictures, a number of first virtual deletion information(303), a number of supplementary audio parts, and connection information. The connection information shows a relationship between the still pictures and the supplementary audio parts. The connection information contains general information of the supplementary audio group and supplementary audio group information. The virtual deletion information informs whether or not it is possible that the corresponding supplementary audio part of the supplementary audio parts is produced now.

PURPOSE: An MPEG2 motion picture coding/decoding system is provided to minimize deterioration of pixels and to prevent copy of motion picture data. CONSTITUTION: An MPEG2 motion picture coding system is composed of a frame memory, a frame/field memory, an activity calculator, a rate controller, a discrete cosine transformer, a quantizer, an inverse quantizer, an inverse discrete cosine transformer, an adaptive estimator, a motion estimator, VLC and MUX and a buffer. The coding system includes a digital watermark inserting unit, and a digital watermark removal unit. The digital watermark inserting unit inserts watermark information that is discrete-cosine-transformed by the discrete cosine transformer in the frequency domain. The digital watermark removal unit removes digital watermark information inserted in order to prevent error in motion estimation on the time domain with respect to P and B pictures.

PURPOSE: A device for successively watching plural programs scheduled on an overlapped time zone is provided to watch a plurality of programs scheduled on an overlapped time zone successively by using a RAM(Random Access Memory). CONSTITUTION: First and second tuners(102,104) receive first and second programs scheduled on an overlapped time zone, transmitted from different broadcasting stations. First and second ADCs(Analog to Digital Converter,106,108) provide first and second digital audio/video signals for the tuned first and second programs. A key input processor(110) transmits the key input of a user to a system controller(114). A program guide receiver(112) receives and transmits program guide data from a specific program source to the system controller. The key input processor inputs the data of the programs scheduled on the overlapped time zone through interfacing with the user. The schedule of plural programs is registered via the program guide receiver, and the playing timing of non-watched programs recorded on a RAM is controlled. Therefore, the plural programs are played back successively.

본 발명에는 정지화를 위한 데이터 구조 및 기록재생장치와 그 방법이 개시되어 있다. 본 발명은 여러장의 정지화 데이터를 기록/재생 단위로 정의하여 저장하고, 기록/재생 단위를 억세스하기 위한 부가 정보를 갖는 데이터 구조를 제시하고 있으며, 에프터 레코딩을 고려하여 정지화에 부가되는 오디오 데이터는 별도로 기록/재생 단위로 정의하여 저장함으로써 최소한의 정보 데이터를 이용하여 대용량의 정지화 및 이에 부가되는 오디오 데이터를 기록하고 재생시는 각각의 정지화 단위로 표시 및 편집할 수 있으며, 오디오 데이터의 에프터 레코딩에 대응할 수 있다.
