Abstract:
본 발명은 디지털 데이터의 기록 및 재생 분야에 관한 것이다. 복수개의 디지털 A/V 프로그램에 대한 동시 녹화 및/또는 재생을 위한 장치 및 방법은 오디오 및 비디오 정보를 디지털 데이터 열의 형태로 광 디스크와 같은 기록 매체에 저장할 때 2채널 이상의 다중 프로그램을 하나의 데이터 열로 압축하여 저장한 후 재생 시에 사용자의 조작에 의해 하나의 데이터 열로 기록된 복수개의 프로그램의 일부 혹은 전체를 선택하여 재생시킨다. 본 발명에 따르면, 단일 채널용 디지털 A/V 녹화 및 재생 장치에 값싼 추가 비용으로 다채널 동시 녹화 및 재생 기능을 구현할 수 있는 효과가 있다.

PURPOSE: A thumbnail data recording method is provided to assign a predetermined section of bit streams corresponding to a single program as a thumbnail for record the thumbnail to be played by motion pictures. CONSTITUTION: A thumbnail data recording method includes the steps of recording program including A/V data to an optical disc, recording an ID of the program for defining thumbnail to be played by motion pictures(901), and recording play-starting time data and play-ending time data in the program(902). The play-starting time data and the play-ending time data are recorded as IDs of start frame and last frame of the thumbnail.

PURPOSE: A recording media, recording/reproducing methods and devices, respectively including main and additional contents are provided to selectively enjoy additional contents while enjoying contents. CONSTITUTION: A recording media including main and additional contents includes main contents formed of bit streams embedded with link information including reproduction information required for reproducing at least one related additional contents and guide information to be displayed for the selection of the additional contents, and additional contents formed of additional bit streams separate from the main contents.

PURPOSE: An information storage medium storing video data, a recording method and apparatus, and a reproducing method and apparatus are provided to record and reproduce video data and hypertext data even when the video data is re-encoded by different method. CONSTITUTION: Video data is decoded, and the decoded video data is encoded in a manner that the video data has resolution different from the resolution of the original data. Video conversion information, which is considered in order to decode the video data into the original state, is generated. The generated video conversion information and re-encoded video data are recorded. An apparatus for recording bit streams in an information storage medium includes a filter(1), a recording unit(3) and a controller(2). The filter extracts video data from input bit streams. The recording unit decodes the extracted video data, encodes the decoded video data such that the video data is different from the original state of the data to record the video data, and records video conversion information that is referred to in order to decode the video data into the original state. The controller generates the video conversion information to provide the information to the recording unit.

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for recording broadcasting program and an information storage medium are provided to enable reproduction of broadcasting program without time delay. CONSTITUTION: Information packet including control information required for recording or reproducing broadcasting program is extracted to be recorded in a navigation data area. Data packets constructing the broadcasting program are extracted based on the information packet to be recorded in a program area formed separately from the navigation area. The information packet includes the first information packet informing packet identifiers and the second information packet informing identifiers of data packets constructing the broadcasting program based on the first information packet.

PURPOSE: A method for selecting audio channels is provided to trace an input of audio selection by a user, though a program or an audio data stream is switched in an A/V(Audio-Visual) apparatus that regenerates a plurality of audio streams, so as to select a same type of audio channels. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of programs are included. One program includes at least two types audio data streams. Each audio data stream includes at least two sub audio data streams having a series of not-duplicated ID codes according to a predetermined priority. If a program is switched to another program, whether a sub audio data stream having a channel ID code identical to a channel ID code allocated to a sub audio data stream of the program before switching exists in the switched program is searched. If so, the sub audio data stream having the identical channel ID code is selected in the switched program. And if not, a sub audio data stream having a highest priority of channel ID code is selected in another program.

PURPOSE: An apparatus for performing a simultaneous recording or a simultaneous playing relating to many digital A/V(Audio/Video) programs is provided to bind more than two A/V signals as one A/V signal to encode or record the A/V signal, and to divide the encoded or recorded A/V signal into many independent channels, so as to play the A/V signal according to a user selection. CONSTITUTION: Signal input terminals(20,21,22,23) input many A/V(Audio/Video) signals selected by a user's operation. A signal stream controller(24) performs a down-sampling relating to the video signals only, and performs a selective down-mixing or a specific channel deleting relating to the audio signals only. An encoder(25) synthesizes the processed A/V signals of the signal stream controller(24) into one A/V signal, and compresses the A/V signal. Recorded media(26) record an encoding signal outputted from the encoder(25). The recorded media(26) record simultaneous recording additional information for recording. The signal stream controller(24) diminishes the size of frames by N to 1 ratio, relating to the video signals, and combines the diminished frames to make one frame.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A recording medium, a method for automatically generating scene turning point information and device for recording/playing back the information are provided to effectively generate the information and not to increase the charge of a hardware by monitoring a characteristic change of a video frame and automatically generating the information according to the change of characteristics. CONSTITUTION: A video sequence of a serial frame unit is inputted to a DCT(Discrete cosine transform) processing unit via a frame buffer(700). The DCT processing unit(710) performs a DCT by dividing the video data to blocks of 8X8 size. A mosaic activity processing unit(720) generates a mosaic activity adapting a statistical variance of energy values in zero frequency band. The zero frequency band is a mean brightness value of each DCT block. The entire activity processing unit(720) generates an entire activity by measuring an amount of frequency energy inside every DCT block and summing the amounts. A scene turning point generating unit(740) generates scene turning point information by discriminating a corresponding frame as a "type-1 frame" or a "type-2 frame" based on the mosaic activity and the entire activity. A navigation data generating unit(750) contains the scene turning point information in navigation data by converting to a pointer.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method for generating additional information is provided to secure continuous reproduction between data streams after recording plural data streams of packet data type in a recording medium. CONSTITUTION: SOBI(stream object information) includes a continuous playback information and a continuous time control information. The continuous playback information contains a value representing a seamless playback or a seamy playback. And, the continuous time control information includes a reference time, an offset, and a gap length. When the continuous playback information represents the seamless playback, the continuous time control information is effective. Herein, the continuous time control information represents the precise output time of an SOB2 ensuring the seamless playback at the boundary of an SOB1 and the SOB2. The continuous time control information uses the reference time or the offset between an ATS(arrival time stamp) corresponding to the reference time and an original ATS. The continuous time control information uses the gap length resetting a counter after outputting the last packet of the SOB1 as the arrival time of the first packet in the SOB2.
