Abstract: An off-track notification method of a navigation portable terminal and a device are provided to improve accuracy in sensing off-track by using an accelerometer sensor and a geomagnetic sensor, and to reflect a progressing direction of the terminal, thereby enhancing rapidity when the off-track is sensed. The current location of a portable terminal is confirmed to check whether the current location exists within a certain distance from a guide path. If the current location is out of the guide path by passing through the certain distance, off-track is notified to a user.
