    Abstract: PURPOSE: A vacuum pump of a vehicle is provided to reduce the compression load of a compression section for improving durability, and minimizing the discharge noise and vibration. CONSTITUTION: A vacuum pump of a vehicle includes a bypass channel(18) formed between a compression section(CP) and a discharge hole(14) in a casing(4), and a check valve(20) mounted to the bypass channel for preventing backflow. The check valve is formed of a main body, a valve body disposed in a flow channel in the main body, and a spring disposed at a rear part of the valve body with a proper elasticity. When compression force rises beyond the elasticity of the spring in the process of pumping of the vacuum pump, compression oil and air are discharged via the bypass channel through the check valve.

CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a step of maintaining the state where a pinion gear(12) connected to a start motor(4) is engaged with a ring gear(14) prior to starting of a vehicle; a step of operating the start motor and allowing for starting of an engine by operating a solenoid switch(2) and supplying power from a battery to the start motor; a step of operating the solenoid switch in a reverse direction, stopping supply of power to the start motor and permitting the pinion gear to be escaped from the ring gear upon detection of a normal engine RPM and voltage drop of the start motor; and a step of returning the solenoid switch and permitting the pinion gear to be engaged with the ring gear upon stoppage of the vehicle.
