    Abstract: The invention relates to polymeric beta -ketoamides which are prepared by reacting a) polyethyleneimines with diketenes of long-chain fatty acids, 0.1 to 1 mol of the diketene being used for 1 mol of the primary and secondary amino groups in the polyethyleneimine. These polymeric beta -ketoamides are, like beta -ketoamides which are obtained by reacting piperazine, 1-(2-aminoethyl)-piperazine and 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane with long-chain diketenes, used as stabilisers for polyalkylene glycol esters of saturated C10-C22-fatty acids, in order to prevent unesterified fatty acids from crystallising out.
