Abstract: Provided herein are zoned catalysts that utilize components efficiently in that relatively short zones are provided to achieve specific functionalities to convert and/or trap one or more components in the exhaust stream. Highly controlled zoned are formed from one end of a monolithic carrier. The zones have a flat profile such that the zoned catalytic material within each passage of the substrate is at a substantially uniform distance from one end of the carrier. Methods of making and using the same are also provided.

Abstract: Un filtro de partículas catalizado que comprende: una pluralidad de paredes porosas que se extienden longitudinalmente para formar una pluralidad de pasajes paralelos que se extienden desde un extremo de entrada a un extremo de salida, en donde una cantidad de los pasajes son pasajes de entrada que se abren en el extremo de entrada y se cierran en el extremo de salida, y una cantidad de los pasajes son pasajes de salida que se cierran en el extremo de entrada y se abren en el extremo de salida; al menos tres revestimientos que crean al menos dos zonas axialmente a lo largo de la pluralidad de paredes porosas, en donde un primer revestimiento es un primer revestimiento de catalizador SCR, un segundo revestimiento es un segundo revestimiento de catalizador SCR y un tercer revestimiento es un revestimiento de metal del grupo del platino; en donde los al menos tres revestimientos crean al menos tres zonas axialmente a lo largo de la pluralidad de paredes porosas, y en donde: una primera zona se extiende axialmente desde el extremo de entrada de las paredes porosas una distancia menor que la longitud total de las paredes porosas y consiste esencialmente en el primer revestimiento de catalizador SCR; y una segunda zona se extiende axialmente desde la primera zona una distancia menor que la distancia al extremo de salida de las paredes porosas y comprende el revestimiento de metal del grupo del platino y el primer revestimiento de catalizador SCR; y en donde: una tercera zona se extiende axialmente desde la segunda zona hasta el extremo de salida de la pared porosa y comprende el revestimiento de metal del grupo del platino y el segundo revestimiento de catalizador SCR.

Abstract: An oxidation catalyst composite, methods, and systems for the treatment of exhaust gas emissions from a diesel engine are described. More particularly, described is an oxidation catalyst composite including a first oxidation component comprising a first refractory metal oxide support, palladium (Pd) and platinum (Pt); a NOx storage component comprising one or more of alumina, silica, titania, ceria, or manganese; and a second oxidation component comprising a second refractory metal oxide, a zeolite, and Pt. The oxidation catalyst composite is sulfur tolerant, adsorbs NOx and thermally releases the stored NOx at temperature less than 350° C.

Abstract: The present invention provides an oxidation catalyst composition suitable for at least partial conversion of gaseous hydrocarbon emissions, e.g., methane. The oxidation catalyst composition includes at least one platinum group metal (PGM) component supported onto a porous zirconia-containing material that provides an effect on hydrocarbon conversion activity. The porous zirconia-containing material is at least 90% by weight in the monoclinic phase. Furthermore, the PGM component can comprise at least one platinum group metal in the form of colloidally deposited nanoparticles. The oxidation catalyst composition can be used in the treatment of emissions from lean compressed natural gas engines.

Abstract: A nitrous oxide (N2O) removal catalyst composite is described, which includes: a N2O removal catalytic material on a carrier, wherein the catalytic material comprises a platinum group metal (PGM) component on a ceria-containing support having a single phase, cubic fluorite crystal structure. The catalytic material is effective to decompose nitrous oxide (N2O) to nitrogen (N2) and oxygen (O2) and/or to reduce N2O to N2 and water (H2O) and/or (CO2) under conditions of an exhaust stream of an internal combustion engine operating under conditions that are stoichiometric or lean with periodic rich transient excursions. Methods of making and using the same are also provided.
