Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of an aqueous polymer dispersion containing methacrylic acid and N-methylol-acrylamide as a binding agent for the production of filter materials and for base paper for decorative foils.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are compositions comprising a first copolymer derived from monomers comprising a (meth)acrylate monomer, an acid monomer, and optionally at least one additional monomer selected from the group consisting of styrene, a-methyl-styrene, vinyl toluene, and mixtures thereof, wherein the first copolymer is derived in the absence of a molecular weight regulator and wherein the first copolymer has a weight average molecular weight of less than 10,000 Daltons, and methods of making the same. The compositions and methods disclosed can be used, for instance, in pressure-sensitive adhesive applications.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing emulsion polymer particles with a core-shell structure, wherein the weight ratio of the shells lies within special limits. The invention also relates to the use of said particles in paints, paper coatings, foams, and cosmetic agents.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing emulsion polymer particles with a core-shell structure, wherein at least one polyalkylene oxide-containing additive is used in the core. The invention also relates to the use of said particles in paints, paper coatings, foams, plant protecting agents, inks, and cosmetic agents.
Abstract:
Use of an aqueous polymer composition as binder for fibrous and particulate substrates, wherein the aqueous polymer composition can be obtained by free-radically initiated emulsion polymerization of a monomer mixture M in an aqueous medium in the presence of a polymer A. The polymer A is made up of from 80 to 100% by weight of at least one ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic and/or dicarboxylic acid and from 0 to 20% by weight of a further ethylenically unsaturated monomer. The monomer mixture M is composed of from 0.01 to 10% by weight of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer containing an epoxide and/or hydroxyalkyl group and from 90 to 99.99% by weight of a further ethylenically unsaturated monomer.
