Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for producing aqueous dispersions of thermoplastic polymers which have a multitude of ester groups and/or carbonate groups in the polymer backbone, and which have an acid number of less than 5 mg KOH/g, especially not more than 3 mg KOH/g, and a zero-shear viscosity &eegr; (180°C) at 180°C of at least 60 Pa·s. The copolymer is injection molded or blow molded to form a molded article having a wall thickness above 200 μm.
