Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which has the combination of both merits of a rubber and PE, by kneading the rubber and ultra-high M.W. PE in the presence of a radial initiator and crosslinking agent. CONSTITUTION:The subject composition is obtained by kneading rubber (e.g., styrenebutadiene rubber) with PE of ultra-high molecular weight (preferably 800,000-5,000,000) in the presence of a radical initiator, preferably thiazole, guanidine, thiuram or zinc white and a crosslinking agent, preferably sulfur, sulfur crosslinking agent, peroxide crosslinking agent at a temperature higher than the softening point of PE, preferably at 150-170 deg.C.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate an abnormal sound generated by the friction between a blade and a photosensitive body in copying operation by holding a blade main body made of a rubber compound on a holder made of a specific high- elasticity material. CONSTITUTION:The blade main body 1 made of the rubber compound is held on the holder 2 made of the high-elasticity material consisting principally of resin with a >=50,000kg/cm modulus of elasticity. Here, the holder 2 is preferably made of resin reinforced by a reinforcing material, which is preferably metal, glass fiber, or carbon fiber. Further, the rubber compound in use contains a 15-70wt% styrene-based block copolymer, a 0-70wt% plasticizer, and a 5-60wt% olefin processing aid. Consequently, the abnormal sound generation of a blade used for the cleaning of various copying machine photosensitive bodies is eliminated, and cleaning performance and the durability of the blade are improved.
