    Abstract: Prodn. of a seeding mixt. for faujasite synthesis comprises (i) diluting aq. NaOH soln. with water, while stirring, and heating to 50-80 deg.C; (ii) adding pptd. silicic acid; (iii) cooling the mixt. to 30-70 deg.C; (iv) adding aq. sodium aluminate soln. and then water, so as to give a mixt. of the compsn. 9-15 Na2O:Al2O3:9-15 SiO2:140-260 H2O; and (v) ageing the mixt. at 30-40 deg.C for 18-72 hrs. The concn. of the aq. NaOH is pref. about 50%. The pptd. silicic acid can be used as powder or filter cake; it has e.g. 6% drying loss (105 deg.C), 5% ignition loss (1000 deg.C); and Na2O content 1%. The sodium aluminate soln. contains 100-200 g/l Al2O3 and 150-300 g/l Na2O. The seeding mixt. is pref. stored at 35 deg.C. A tendency to gel after a certain period of storage causes no handling problems if the mixt. is stored in a stirred vessel.

    Abstract: Novel bis-(silylethyl)-oligosulphides are obtained by reacting a vinyl silane of the formula (CH2=CH)m-SiRn1R4-(m+n) in which R represents chlorine, bromine, iodine, C1-C3-alkoxy, 2-methoxyethoxy, 2-ethoxyethoxy or hydroxy, R1 represents C1-C3-alkyl, phenyl or C5-C7-cycloalkyl, n is 0, 1 or 2, m is 1 or 2 and m+n is 1, 2 or 3 with sulphur as well as in a given case hydrogen sulphide in molar ratios of vinyl silane to sulphur of from 1:2.5 to 1:10 and vinyl silane to hydrogen sulphide of from 1:0 to 1:5 at temperatures between about 100 DEG and 200 DEG C. under pressure of from 1 to 25 bars (total pressure at the reaction) temperature) and in the presence of sulphidation catalysts known per se, in a given case followed by hydrolysis or partial hydrolysis of the reaction products. The bis-(silylethyl)-oligosulphides are used as reinforcing additives (adhesive agents) in crosslinkable rubber mixtures containing silicate fillers and in a given case carbon black as well as in a given case sulphur and other customary constituents.

    Abstract: Mixtures of sulfurous triazine compounds and methods of preparing these compounds with the general formula I in which R1, R2=H,R2=benzyl, R2, R3, R4=C1-C8-alkyl, allyl, C3-C8 cycloalkyl, the latter unsubstituted or substituted with 1-3 methyl groups, 2-hydroxyethyl, 3-hydroxypropyl, 2-hydroxypropyl or R3 and R4 (together): C4-C6-alkylene, -(CH2-CHX)2 Y with X=H, CH3, Y=O,S, Sa: Polysulfide chain with 2-10 S atoms (i.e. 2 I in which R1, R2, R3, R4 have the meanings indicated above is reacted with an ammonium polysulfide or alkali polysulfide and dissolved in a protic polar solvent, especially water, at a temperature of 80 DEG to 140 DEG C.
