    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely seal the exhaust hole of an airtight container for improving reliability. SOLUTION: An airtight container 10 is composed of an anode substrate 1, a cathode substrate 2, and a frame-shaped side member 3 that is provided between the substrates. A cutout 4, that is formed in the side member, becomes an exhaust hole 5 that causes allows the inside of the airtight container to communicate with the outside. A middle member 11 with a passage hole 12 surrounding the exhaust hole is sealed at the side of the airtight container, and a sealing member 6 for sealing the passage hole 12 of the middle member is sealed to the middle member, thus achieving sure sealing, and hence improving the airtight property.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a black matrix(BM) material having high resistance and a particle diameter as large as that of an inorganic pigment for a color filter. SOLUTION: A black matrix(BM) 21 and color filters are placed inside of an anode substrate 4 of an envelope 2, a light transmissive insulating layer 20 is over them, and anode conductors 6 and phosphor layers 7 are over it. A field emission element is inside of a cathode substrate 3. Electrons emitted by an emitter 13 of the field emission element 9 make the phosphor layers emit light. Inorganic pigments, (Co-Al)O, (Ti-Ni-Co-Zn)O, α-Fe2O3 for color filters of red, green, and blue with higher resistance than that of a black pigment and area resistance of approximately 1011Ω/m2 are mixed up to provide a material for the BM. The BM of the material has as large resistance as inorganic pigments for color filters, insulation with the anode conductor is retained by a thin insulator layer 20 of 15 μm. The BM is also formed at a high voltage FED to improve display contrast. The BM and color filters have the same particle diameter to increase adhesion force at the overlapping parts for preventing them from peeling off.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor display device producing method simple in production process and high in the positioning precision of light emitting diode elements. SOLUTION: An adhesive tape is stuck to an electrically conductive substrate and the substrate side of a wafer having a light emitting diode layer. Then, the wafer is divided to form plural light emitting elements 4. An operating means is used to suck in the elements 4 from plural positioning holes and to hold the elements 4. Then, the strength of the adhesive tape is reduced, and the tape is arranged at the location close to the elements 4, and the elements 4 are sucked in to hold the elements 4 in the holes. Then, an adhesive 21 is applied on the base body 6 side of the elements 4 being held. Then, the base body 6 side of the elements 4 are adhered to the prescribed positions of the inner surface of a back surface substrate 23. Then, a light emitting diode 7 of the element 4 and the inner surface of a transparent front surface substrate 26 are placed opposing to each other and an elastic sealing material 27 is provided between the both substrates. Then, the inner section of the inner space is evacuated, sealed and the inner surface of the substrate 26 is contacted to the diodes 7 and fixed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To facilitate conection of a drive circuit to a display device and form the display device into a small size, by arranging a conductor struct, brought into contact with a conductor wire and an anode electrode, between cathode/anode substrates in a high vacuum chamber. CONSTITUTION: A cathode substrate 1 provided with a cathode electrode 2 and an anode substrate 8 provided with an anode electrode 7 are held with a prescribed space by a plurality of insulating struts 10, opposed, arranged and exhausted to a high vacuum in a space formed by arranging a seal glass 9 is the periphery. In this high vacuum chamber, many cone-shaped emitters 5 as a fine cold cathode are arranged in an opening part 6 provided in an insulating layer 3 and a getter electrode 4, on the cathode electrode 2. By an electron generated from this emitter 5, a phosphor provided in the anode electrode 7 is made to emit light. In the above display device, a conductor strut 12, brought into contact with a conductor wire 11 and the anode electrode 7 in the high vacuum chamber, is arranged. Through this conductor wire 11, the anode electrode 7 can be easily connected to an anode leader wire.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a container for a display device in which consists of a cathode substrate and an anode substrate and which, ever when a spacer is disposed between a cathode substrate and an anode substrate, an electron source is not polluted and also a fluorescent material layer is not deteriorated in a container for a display device. CONSTITUTION: Electron released from tip of an emitter cone 9 are accelerated by an anode conductor 6-1 applied with positive voltage against a gate conductor 8, and thus impinge on a fluorescent material layer 6-2, so that the fluorescent material layer 6-2 is excited and makes luminescence. This luminescence is observed through a transparent, anode substrate 5. A spacer 3 is melt attached only its end on the side of the cathode substrate with seal glass 4, so that without irradiation of electrons released to seal glass, lead within seal glass is not liberated.

In the sealed position with the frit glass 31, granular materials 30 or rods which are neither melted nor practically softened at the frit glass sealing temperature are arranged. In the required position of a gap part between an anode plate and a cathode plate within the range of display, a space 32 which is softened at the sealing temperature for fixation is arranged.
