    Abstract: The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical aerosol composition, for use in administering the medicaments by inhaling in the medical treatment. According to the invention, the pharmaceutical aerosol composition comprises 0.005 up to 10% by weight related to the total weight of the composition, of one or more medicaments in particle form, one or more propellent agents comprising fluorocarbons or chlorofluorocarbons, which contain hydrogen, and 0.05 up to 15% by weight, related to the medicament composition, of a surfactant having the general formula Ia or Ib: where R1 is: RF-(CH)a-(CH=CH)b-(CH2)c-(CH=CH)d-(CH2)e-A-; RF-(CH2)f-OCH2CH(CH2OH)-CH2-A-; RF-(CH2)g-OCH2CH(CH2OH)-A-.

    Abstract: A metered dose inhaler characterised in that part or all of its internal surfaces are coated with a polymer blend of one or more fluorocarbon polymers in combination with one or more non-fluorocarbon polymers, for dispensing an inhalation drug formulation comprising salmeterol, or a physiologically acceptable salt thereof, and a fluorocarbon propellant, optionally in combination with one or more other pharmacologically active agents or one or more excipients, wherein a) the fluorocarbon polymer is selected from the group consisting of PTFE, PFA, FEP and mixtures thereof, b) the non-fluorocarbon polymer is selected from the group consisting of polyamideimides, polyimides, polyethersulfones, polyphenylene sulfides and amine-formaldehyde thermosetting resins, (c) the inhaler comprises a can made of metal whose interior surfaces are coated with the polymer blend.
