Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concrete admixture by the use of which concrete capable of exhibiting high levels of dispersion properties, dispersion retentivity and initial strength can be produced under wide concrete production conditions. SOLUTION: This concrete admixture comprises: copolymer (I) formed of a monomer mixture containing a specific polyoxyalkylene glycol ester-based monomer (a) and a specific carboxylic acid-based and/or sulfonic acid-based monomer(s) (b) in a (b)/[(a)+(b)]×100 ratio in the range of 1-30 (wt.%); and a copolymer (II) formed of another monomer mixture containing the monomer (a) and the monomer(s) (b) in a (b)/[(a)+(b)]×100 ratio in the same range as above but different from the above ratio.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a concrete admixture without viscosity reduction and the retardation of solidification by polymerizing an esterification compd. between polyethylene glycol sealing lower alkyl at a one-side terminal having plural different chain lengths and (meth)acrylic acid and the (meth)acrylic acid in a specified weight ratio. SOLUTION: A monomer (A) represented by formula I, a monomer (B) represented by formula II, a monomer (C) represented by formula III and further, a monomer (D) represented by formula IV, V or VI and a monomer (E) represented by formula VII are polymerized in a weight ration of A/B/C=(51-80)/(10-45)/(1-40), a weight ratio (A+D+E)/B/C=(51-80)/(10-45)/(1-40) and a weight ratio A/(D+E)=(50-100)/(0-50) to obtain an objective admixture comprising a copolymer having a wt. average mol.wt. of 10,000-200,000. In the formulae, R1 -R4 , R6 , R7 , R10 , R11 and R13 are each H or methyl, R8 and R9 are each 2-4C alkylene or the like; R12 is 1-6c alkyl or the like; AO is 2-3C oxyalkylene; X1 and X2 are each H or 1-3C alkyl; M1 -M7 are each H, an alkali metal or the like; n1 is 80-300; and n2 is 5-30.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time required to cure a thermosetting resin in a process for producing a glassy carbon material, to enhance productivity, to improve the handleability of a cured resin to be fired and to enhance the dimensional precision of a glassy carbon material after firing. SOLUTION: A thermosetting resin is cured by curing accompanied by a condensation reaction and the cured resin is fired to produce the objective glassy carbon material. The thermosetting resin is cured through a 1st process in which the resin is cured at a temp. below the b.p. of water and a 2nd process in which the resin is cured at the b.p. of water or above.
