Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat insulating material and a heat insulating box body having excellent heat insulating capacity, in technique for adsorbing and removing carbon dioxide in the foam of a foamed heat insulating material by a carbon dioxide adsorbent comprising alkali metal hydroxide or alkaline earth metal hydroxide, by eliminating the lowering of foaming efficiency or a problem such that the heat insulating capacity of foam is deteriorated with the elapse of time in a foaming process and filling the foam with a volatile foaming agent low in gas heat conductivity. SOLUTION: A carbon dioxide adsorbent 1 prepared by coating alkali metal hydroxide or alkaline earth metal hydroxide 2 with a plurality of layers consisting of an inner layer 3 comprising a water absorbing substance, desirably, a porous inorg. substance and an outer layer 4 comprising an org. film layer is included in a foamed heat insulating material 5 to fill foam with a volatile foaming agent low in gas heat conductivity to obtain a heat insulating material and a heat insulating box body having excellent heat insulating capacity.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To homogeneously disperse a powder in a heat-insulating foam while causing the powder to perform its function and thus to obtain a heat-insulating foam improved in physical properties by using an apparatus comprising a means for mixing and stirring a reaction liq. comprising a plurality of liq. components. a means for supplying a powder, a means for wetting the powder with the reaction liq., and a means for delivering and foaming the reaction liq. contg. the wet powder. SOLUTION: According to the invention, even in the case of producing a heat-insulating foam by reacting a polyisocyanate and a polyol in the presence of water as a reactive blowing agent, cyclopentane as a volatile blowing agent, and a catalyst, a powder (e.g. NaOH, which has a function to adsorb CO2 gas generated by the reaction of water with an isocyanate) which adversely affects the storage stability of urethane materials can be used without inhibiting the generation of CO2 gas and thus without lowering the foaming efficiency. In the resultant foam, the powder which reacts with and fixes CO2 is homogeneously dispersed. Being filled with a volatile blowing agent having a low thermal conductivity, the foam has a low thermal conductivity.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gaseous CO2 adsorbent not deteriorating its gaseous CO2 adsorbing effect with the lapse of time by coating the surface of powder of at least one of an alkali metal hydroxide and an alkaline earth metal hydroxide with a coating film contg. water absorbing powder dispersed in a thermoplastic resin. SOLUTION: The surface of an alkali metal hydroxide 2 is coated with a thermoplastic resin coating film 4 contg. dispersed water absorbing powder 3 to obtain the objective gaseous CO2 adsorbent. The hydroxide 2 reacts with gaseous CO2 in an atmosphere, adsorbs and removes the CO2 . It is, e.g. NaOH but hydroxide of other alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal has the same effect. The adsorbent maintains its effect even after the lapse of a certain period of time after production because moisture in the air passing through the coating film 4 is captured by the water absorbing powder 3 and the hydroxide 2 is not leached.

SOLUTION: This foamed polyurethane resin composition comprises a foamed polyurethane resin composition having closed cells charged with a volatile blowing agent. The resin composition contains a urethane bond, a urea bond, at least one carbonate of an alkaline (earth) carbonate obtained by reacting an alkaline (earth) metal hydroxide with a carbon dioxide and a compound obtained by reacting an epoxy compound with water. A polyol, a foam stabilizer, a catalyst, a reactive blowing agent, a volatile blowing agent and a polyisocyanate are mixed with the alkaline (earth) metal hydroxide and the epoxy compound, expanded and passed through a step, in which the polyurethane resin composition containing a carbon dioxide gas generated by the reaction between the reactive blowing agent and a polyisocyanate and the volatile blowing agent in the closed cells is formed, to give the objective heat insulating material.

CONSTITUTION:This heat-insulating box body 7 is obtained by expanding and packing a rigid urethane foam 5 adding 1,1,1,2,3,3-hexa-fluoropropane as a foaming agent and >=0.5 pts.wt. of water as an auxiliary foaming agent between both boxes of an inner box 6 made of a resin and an outer box 3 made of a metal. In this heat-insulating box body, the inner box 6 is obtained by molding a resin composition having high nitrile content, obtained by mixing (A) a graft copolymer obtained by polymerizing a conjugated diene-based synthetic rubber with 30-50wt.% of vinyl cyanide and 70-50wt.% of an aromatic vinyl with (B) a copolymer of 30-50wt.% of vinyl cyanide and 70-50wt.% of aromatic vinyl and (C) an acrylate rubber having a 2-4C alkyl and coated with the component B.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title material which does not suffer from a dispersion of density due to, e.g. the separation of a blowing agent, and has a quality equivalent to that of a heat-insulation material prepared by using a conventional halohydrocarbon as the blowing agent even when an aliphatic or cyclic hydrocarbon poorly compatible with a polyol as the raw material of a urethane resin is used as the blowing agent and contributes the solution of the environmental problem of ozonosphere depletion. CONSTITUTION:The title material is prepared by mixing under agitation a polyol component containing at least 5% polyether polyol, obtained by the addition polymerization of ethylenediamine with an alkylene oxide, with an organic polyisocyanate, a foam stabilizer, a catalyst and a blowing agent consisting of at least an aliphatic or cyclic hydrocarbon of a boiling point of 80 deg.C or below, and the title box is made by packing the above material into the space between the inner and outer boxes by in-situ foaming.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the dangerousness of explosion by foaming a foamable heat insulating material while supplying inert gas from the gas vent part provided to a jig. CONSTITUTION:A box object consisting of inner and outer boxes 1,2 is arranged in a jig 3 and a hard urethane foam raw material containing cyclopentane as a foaming agent is injected into the box object from an injection port 4 and foamed to fill the box object with a heat insulating material 5. A gas vent part 6 for removing existing air and the foaming agent generated as gas to the outside of the jig 3 is provided to the foaming and filling final part of the outer box 2 and the jig 3. When the hard urethane foam raw material is injected in the gap part between the inner and outer boxes 1,2 from the injection port 4, a part of the air and foaming agent preliminarily present in the gap part is leaked to the outside from the gas vent part 6. At this time, by supplying nitrogen gas from a gas supply port 7, the conc. of cyclopentane can be suppressed to 1.4% or less of a lower explosion limit and the concn. of oxygen in the circumferential atmosphere is lowered.
