Abstract: A monitoring system and method of producing a multi-layered coating such as a non-classical anti-reflecting coating on a substrate such as an optical lens is provided. The substrate is coated with material in a sealed housing. A beam of energy such as light having a variable wavelength across a predetermined range is directed to contact the coating material on the substrate. A portion of the beam is monitored after it contacts the coating material to provide a plurality of corresponding monitoring signals indicative of the optical thickness of the coating. The monitoring signals are compared with a predetermined range of values corresponding to the desired optical thickness. When all of the monitoring signals are respectively matched with the predetermined values, the deposition of material is stopped. The predetermined values and the monitoring signals can be simultaneously displayed on a visual display screen for comparison by an operator. The beam of energy can be monitored before it contacts the coating material and the resulting signal can be compared through a differential amplifier with the resulting monitoring signals to insure that any fluctuations in the energy source will not influence the monitoring signals. Alternatively, the beam can be filtered to provide a derivative single monitoring wavelength beam varying from the design wavelength that would provide an extreme limit of reflection for the desired optical thickness.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To take a photograph under the quantitative control over the contrast by providing 2 or more photodetectors for executing photometry on the plural parts of a photographing picture, and controlling the contrast of the photometric parts to attain a prescribed value from the photodetecting quantities at the time of light emission and non-light emission of an auxiliary light source. CONSTITUTION:Photodetectors PD1, PD2 execute photometry of different parts on the respective photographing pictures. A light emitting part FL1 for spare light emission receives a closing signal of a switch (S) 6 of a camera side and emits a flash. When the S 6 is closed, the light emitting part FL1 starts light emission, also a timer TI1 is operated, output currents of the elements PD1, PD2 are integrated by capacitors C11, 12, and the integration is stopped after a constant interval of time. Voltage in case of said light emission and non-light emission is A/D-converted 8 through a multiplexer 7, and is applied to a demultiplexer 9. To a block 14, a block 26 and a block 73, Tvc of said reset time, Tvs of an exposure time and a contrast data DELTA cs are provided, respectively, and the quantity of light between photometric parts by a main light emitting part FL2 can be controlled to a prescribed ratio.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To measure the quantity of light in a wide range by connecting an additional capacitor in parallel to an integrating capacitor detecting that the lower range is exceeded during the measurement of the quantity of light to switch ranges automatically. CONSTITUTION:Switches SW1 and SW3 are opened by a light measurement starting signal and, when a photodiode SPD receives the flux of measuring light, the output from the photodiode is logarithmically compressed through an operation amplifier OPA and a logarithmic compression diode D and the logarithmetically compressed signal is applied to the base of a transistor TR. The current Ic flowing into TR is integrated for a fixed period through a capacitor C1 and the switch SW2 is turned off. The output voltage is applied to a comparator COP and, when the voltage exceeds the set voltage of Vcc-Vr, a switching circuit X operates and the switch SW3 is opened to connect capacitor C2. The integrated output is applied to the data processing and display circuit DS through the AD converter. Thus, the quantity of light in a wide range is measured.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To ensure lighting contrast by using a photometric circuit, an integral network, a lighting contrast setter and an arithmetic circuit and then calculate the difference between the flash light volume obtained based on the lighting contrast and the flash light volume obtained through photometry. CONSTITUTION:A photometric circuit consists of a photodetector PD, a logarithm compressing diode D1 and an arithmetic amplifier OA1. The potential obtained by giving a logarithm compression to the intensity of incident light to be applied to the detector PD is extracted. A logarithm compression integral network, consisting of the diodes D2 and D3 plus a capacitor C2, delivers the voltage obtained by giving a logarithm compression to the integral value of the flowed-in current to the circuit itself to the both ends of the capacitor C2. In addition to these circuits, the following components are provided: a lighting contrast setter 5; an arithmetic circuit 3; a display device 7 which displays the value sent from the circuit 3; a display device 8 which shows the difference between the light emission volume of a flashing device which is not shown in the figure and the light emission volume calculated by the circuit 3; a display device 9 which shows the difference of apex value between the area which receives an irradiation of light emitted from the flashing device and the area receiving no irradiation of light; and others.

As a result, a photographer is able to make photographing by knowing the quantity of the brigtness that exceeds stationary light.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of the measuring device, by switching and displaying constant set values such as film sensitivity on the display equipment where set values changed frequently are always displayed and by making it possible to change only the displaying set value. CONSTITUTION:When switch ATS is closed, the terminal of switching circuit 11 connected to line 90 becomes high-level, and the film sensitivity set in the first setting means 15 is displayed on set value display circuit 31 through decoder 19 and OR circuit OGO. Then, the set value can be changed to a prescribed value through switches VS, DS, and so on while observing display of circuit 31. In this case, setting means 17 to which the low-level output is applied from circuit 11 is not activated, and set values such as shutter seconds are not displayed in circuit 31, and the set value of means 17 is not changed. When switch ATS is opened to invert the control output of circuit 11, set shutter seconds and so on of means 17 can be displayed and changed similarly. The constitution of the exposure measuring device is simplified by using the display unit commonly by the use of switching.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To widen a measurement range and accurately indicate color coordinates, by logarithmically compressing the output current of a light receiver to pick out the current. CONSTITUTION:Logarithmic compression light measuring circuits are composed of light receivers PD1-PD3, diodes D1-D3 and operational amplifiers OA1-OA3. Spectra of light applied to the light measuring circuits through filters F1-F3 are changed into signals corresponding to three logarithmecally compressed stimulus values X, Y, Z. The signals are picked out and supplied to an A/D converter 4 through a multiplexer 2 in a time series manner so that the signals are changed into digital signals. The digital signals are applied to a calculation circuit 6, which performs prescribed calculation and index conversion to indicate chromaticity coordinates by a dispaly circuit 8. Since the outputs of the light receivers are picked out through logarithmic compression, the amplitude of the handled signals is reduced. This results in widening the measurement range and enabling the indication of accurate chromaticity coordinates.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify measuring-range and offset adjustments by selecting FET differing in amplification factor and an offset resistance by a pulse of a frequency corresponding to manual switch operation. CONSTITUTION:With manual switch 3 closed, the output of oscillator 5 opened by AND gate 6 of pulse generating circuit 4 is counted by counters 7 and 8 and pulse oscillator 9 generates pulses L1-L4 different in frequency, so that a range will be displayed by a range display unit. Opening switch 3 over a supervision over this display selects FETs 131-134 of measuring circuit 10 different in amplification factor by desired pulses L1-L2 to set the range and a fixed gate is opened to select a corresponding drift determination reistance circuit, thereby adjusting the range and drift easily. Here, corrections of the set drift of a measured value are made by memory contents of a register corresponding to the set drift, an A/D converter, arithmetic circuit, etc.
