Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the quantity of toner sticking to a lamp and a reflector by arranging a shielding plate forming a prescribed interval from a frame body on the downstream side of an air flow from a copying processing part between the frame body and a body frame. CONSTITUTION:The shielding plate 20 is arranged so as to be airtightly coupled with a side plate 25 on the base part side of a lamp receiver 28 and separated from the side plate 25 on the other side. At the time of copying, toner moves together with air or the like flowing between the body frame 14 and the shielding plate 20. Air passing the free end side of the shielding plate 20 is dispersed in air already existing in the part and its toner containing ratio is extremely reduced as a whole. The air existing in the part is influenced by natural convection or the like, passed through the space between the shielding plate 20 and the side plate 25 and then allowed to flow into a space where a halogen lamp 21 and a reflector 22 are arranged through an aperture 26. Consequently, effective cooling can be attained without almost dirtying the lamp 21 and the reflector 22.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce information content which is required for an output gradation adjustment. SOLUTION: In a RAM 52, two reference tables K1 and K2 and 16 operation tables E1 to E16 are stored. A CPU 51 selects reference table and operation table to be used based on the inputs from an image quality mode key 13 and a color mode key 14. By the processing of the input image data based on the selected operation table, each part of the reference tables is compressed or elongated and the reference tables are changed to be suitable for the image mode. Therefore, only if the total of 18 tables are stored, the output image data corresponding to 32 kinds of image modes can be prepared.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve the color reproducibility by discriminating an image to which hue extent it corresponds and using a masking equation employing a correction coefficient corresponding to the discriminated hue range so as to conduct color correction of input data. CONSTITUTION: C, M, Y data given to a color correction section 4 are fed to a color discrimination processing section 41 and to a hue discrimination color correction processing section 42. The processing section 41 converts the received C, M, Y data Cin, Min, Yin into L*, a*, b* data. The conversion is conducted on a specific equation. A scanner reads a standard original specified by the L*, a*, b* data or an original whose L*, a*, b* data are measured by a color difference meter. The various C, M, Y data obtained and the L*, a*, b* data of the standard original corresponding to them are substituted to a specific equation, best coefficients are obtained by using the least mean square method. To which of 6 ranges predetermined a hue corresponds is discriminated according to the a*, b* data obtained and the result is outputted to an output color select section.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To increase the processing speed by using one-dimensional mask patterns to simplify the circuit scale and performing the processing in parallel line by line. CONSTITUTION: When picture data given from memories 51a to 51d are subjected to binarization processing in parallel, binarized data are given to shift registers SR1 to SR4. Next, when binarized data of t picture elements are given to registers SR1 to SR4, the matching states between the pattern or these binarized data and one-dimensional mask patterns classified by numbers of lines are recognized based on the Hamming distance between patterns, and discrimination values which are more heavily weighted for the higher matching states are stored for respective numbers of lines based on recognized matching states. If a maximum discrimination value out of these stored discrimination values is larger than a threshold, the area including the picture elements corresponding to binarized data stored in registers SR1 to SR4 is discriminated as a dot area.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To highly accurately set the projecting amount of respective functional parts to a paper carrier path and to prevent the carriage delay of paper and the generation of noise by forming paper guide boards integrally with an upper part casing or a lower part casing. CONSTITUTION:The paper guide boards 101d and 102 are integrally formed with the respectively corresponding upper part casing 101a and the lower part casing 101b by a resin shaping method. As a result, since the influence of an assembly accuracy to the respective upper part casing 101a and the lower part casing 101b corresponding to the respective guide boards 101d and 102 can be eliminated, the positioning accuracy of the functional parts projecting inside the paper carrier path 103 to the paper guide board 102 is decided exclusively by work accuracy at the time of shaping the upper part casing 101a and the lower part casing 101b and the assembly accuracy of the respective functional parts to the upper part casing 101a and the lower part casing 101b. Thus, the variation of the projecting amount of the functional parts inside the path is reduced.

A leaf spring 76 constituting the second putting-aside means elastically puts the mounting frame body 38 and the thermal printing head 22 fixed thereto aside to the downstream side in a thermal paper feed direction.

CONSTITUTION:Insulating layers 12A are formed by coating separation rollers 12... with an insulating material. Copying paper to which an image is already transferred rotates in contact with the rotating peripheral surface of a photosensitive drum 1 together with the photosensitive drum 1, but the separation rollers 12... also rotate as shown by an arrow L, so the surfaces of the separation rollers 12... and brush type bodies 16... contact each other to generate static electricity by friction. Namely, the surfaces of the separation rollers 12... are charged negatively and the brush type bodies 16... are charged positively. The copying paper contacting the rotating peripheral surface of the photosensitive drum 1, therefore, receives electrostatic attractive forces of the separation rollers 12... when passing on the separation rollers 12... and are separated from the rotating peripheral surface of the photosensitive drum 1 to reach conveyor belts 10..., which convey it toward a fixation part.

CONSTITUTION:The control means is provided which can operates the original size detecting means even with the input from the copy key 14 instead of the cover switch 4 when the page continuous copy key 12 is operated. When the page continuous copy key 12 is operated to select a page continuous function and the original is thick, an original cover is not closed and the cover switch 4, therefore, generates no output, but the control means operates the original size detecting means by operating the copy key 14 instead, so the original size is detected automatically to select the best form, thereby taking a copy by page continuous copying. Further, when the original is thin, the original size detecting means is operated with the input from the cover switch 4.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To exactly and quickly detect the quantity of the density of a developer by attaching a developer detector to a prescribed position of the wall surface being adjacent to a stirring member, and attaching the stirring member to only a part excepting roughly a part opposed exactly to the developer detector. CONSTITUTION:A developer which has been scraped down by a tuft cutting member 11 is led toward the first stirring member 5 by a partition plate 12, stirred again, and also, a toner density in a stirring state is detected by a toner density sensor, 7 and when the toner density is an allowable density, a developing operation is executed as it is. While a toner density detecting operation is being executed, the first stirring member 5 is driven to rotate, but a part opposed exactly to the detecting surface of the toner density sensor 7 does not work a centrifugal force to the developer in this part, since the stirring member is omitted. In this way, a state that the developer is put against the detecting surface by following a rotation of the first stirring member 5 is always held in a prescribed state, and the toner density can be detected stably.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to set a copying sheet cassette removably in a housing, by automatically setting a press-contact mechanism into an operative condition or an inoperative condition in association with manipulation for setting or removing the cassette. CONSTITUTION:When a copying sheet cassette 38 is inserted into a cassette receiving section 36 through an opening formed in the left wall of a copying machine housing 2 and then is moved in the direction in which the cassette 38 is inserted, as indicated by the arrow 68, a pair of actuating pieces 18 which are provided on the front wall of a cassette body 58 abut at their lower end against the upper surface of the associated guide member 128 and are slid on the upper surface, exceeding over an abutting part 120 in a predetermined way. When the copying sheet cassette 38 is moved in the direction as indicated by the arrow 68, the cassette 38 abuts against the front end of a releasing level 102 just before it being set in the cassette receiving section 36 as in the predetermined way, and therefore, the releasing lever 102 is turned clockwise overcoming the resilient bias force of a leaf spring 112, thereby the copying sheet cassette 38 is set in the cassette receiving section 36 as in the predetermined way.
