Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the diameter of dispersed particles of a rubber component in a formed resin compsn. and to improve heat sealing strength, low-temp. impact resistance and transparency by compounding the specified rubber component in a polypropylene resin. CONSTITUTION:The title polypropylene resin is formed of 50-99wt.% polypropylene resin (A) and 1-50wt.% rubber component (B). As this rubber component, a random copolymer compsn. wherein the following random copolymer (i) and (ii) are incorporated with a wt. ratio in the range of 95:5-20:80 is used. An ethylene random copolymer (i) is one selected from random copolymers of ethylene with a 3-20C alpha-olefin having an ethylene content of 60-95mol% and an MFR (at 230 deg.C) of 0.1-50g/10min and a propylene random copolymer (ii) is one selected from random copolymers of propylene with a 2-20C alpha-olefin except propylene having a propylene content of 60-95mol% and an MFR (at 230 deg.C) of 0.1-50g/10min.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyolefin substantially free of residual odor, by treating an odoriferous polyolefin with a gas or its mixture with steam in a specified temperature range. CONSTITUTION:An odoriferous polyolefin is treated with a gas or its mixture with steam at a temperature in the range of 60 deg.C - the softening point of the polymer. By deodorization at 80 deg.C, it is only possible to remove 40% of hexanes (HX) and 20% of esters (RY) from odoriferous polyethylene pellets, but the percentage of removal increases with an increase in the temperature, and reaches the maximum at 100 deg.C. When the temperature is further raised, the percentage of removal decreases again. The maximum percentage of removal is 97.8% for HX and 98.8% for RY. For a common purpose, the temperature is set at 98- 128 deg.C, preferably 105-127 deg.C. No criticality appears between the deodorization effect and the flow rate of a gas, especially, air and/or the flow rate of steam.
