    Abstract: PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain the titled compound, by using a trivalent organic phosphorus compound, etc., and an alkali (earth) metal oxide, etc., as a base in reacting vinyl chloride with carbon monoxide and hydrogen in the presence of a rhodium compound and the base. CONSTITUTION:Vinyl chloride is reacted with carbon monoxide and hydrogen in the presence of a rhodium compound and at least one of a trivalent organic phosphorus compound or oxide thereof and at least one of oxide, hydroxide or weak acid salt of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal as a base, preferably in the coexistence of water, preferably at 20-80 deg.C temperature to afford the titled compound useful as an intermediate for chemicals and agricultural chemicals, medicines, etc., in high yield at a low temperature under a low pressure using a simple apparatus by reaction stabilized for a long period, particularly without requiring apparatuses for recovering the base and selection of condition for suppressing loss of the base as much as possible as in conventional methods.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:The reaction between an aromatic nitro compound and carbon monoxide is carried out in the presence of a major catalyst and a cocatalyst containing an iron compound and a vanadium compound to enable easy and high-yield production of the titled production which is used as a feedstock for polyurethane and agricultural chemicals. CONSTITUTION:When an aromatic isocyanate is prepared by reaction between an aromatic nitro compound and carbon monoxide in the presence of a catalyst selected from mixtures of Pd or its compound with nitrogen-containing heterocy clic compounds such as pyrrole, Pd complexes containing the heterocyclic compounds as a ligand; and mixture of the complex with the nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound at elevated temperature and pressure, the reaction is carried out in the presence of a compound bearing active hydrogens such as HCN using a cocatalyst which is composed of a phosphorus halide such as PF3, an iron compound such as ferrous chloride, a vanadium compound such as vanadium trichloride (VCl3) and a tertiary amine such as triethylamine (TEA).

CONSTITUTION:When an aromatic isocyanate is produced by reaction between an aromatic nitro compound and carbon monoxide in the presence of at least one catalyst selected from a mixture of Pd or its compound with a nitrogen- containing heterocyclic compound such as pyrrole, a Pd complex containing the said heterocyclic compound as a ligand and mixtures of the complex with the nitrogen-containing hetero-cyclic compound, under elevated temperature and pressure, the reaction is carried out in the presence of a compound bearing active hydrogen compounds such as HCN using a cocatalyst which is composed of a halide such as phosphorus trifluoride, an iron compound such as ferrous chloride and a tertiary amine such as triethylamine. The objective compound is separated by distillation from the reaction mixture.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound in high yield economically, by reacting an aromatic nitro compound with CO in the presence of a main catalyst, e.g. a mixture of a noble metallic compound with an aromatic heterocyclic nitrogen compound and further a specific cocatalyst at high temperature and pressure. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic nitro compound, e.g. nitrobenzene, is reacted with CO in the presence of at least one main catalyst selected from the group consisting of a mixture of a noble metallic compound, e.g. Ru, Rh or Pd, with an aromatic heterocyclic nitrogen compound, e.g. pyrrole, a noble metallic complex in which the nitrogen compound is coordinated and a mixture of the complex with the nitrogen compound and a cocatalyst consisting of at least one cyclopentadienyl halide and oxyhalide compound of a transition metal of Group VA in the periodic talbe and phosphorus trichloride at 100-250 deg.C and 10-1000kg/cm to give an aromatic isocyanate. EFFECT:The aimed compound can be obtained in one step without forming hydrochloric acid as a by-product.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce methanol efficiently by reacting carbon dioxide with hydrogen in a suspension prepared by heating and evaporating a metal consisting essentially of copper and zinc to give fine particles and suspending the fine particles in an inert solvent. CONSTITUTION:Fine particles having 10A to 1mu average particle diameter obtained by heating and evaporating a metal consisting essentially of copper and zinc are used as a catalyst, the fine particles are suspended in an inert solvent (especially preferably aromatic compound, straight chain or cyclic aliphatic compound, higher alcohol and perfluorocarbon) and in the suspension carbon dioxide substantially not containing carbon monoxide is reacted with hydrogen to give methanol. The metal consisting essentially of copper and zinc as the catalyst is preferably mixed with aluminum or chromium as a reinforcing agent. The reaction is preferably carried out at about 100-400 deg.C. By this method, reaction temperature is readily controlled and this method is extremely advantageous process in terms of industry.
