    Abstract: In one aspect of the disclosure, a UE may be configured to transmit, to a base station, application ID information identifying an application at the UE; receive a first set of RRC parameters from the base station in response to transmission of the application ID information; and apply the first set of RRC parameters to an RRC configuration of the apparatus if the application is active at the apparatus. In another aspect of the disclosure, a base station may be configured to receive, from a UE, application ID information identifying an application at the UE; determine a first set of RRC parameters associated with the application being active at the UE in response to reception of the application ID information; and transmit the first set of RRC parameters to the UE for application to an RRC configuration of the UE if the application is active at the UE.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive signaling that configures a downlink bandwidth for a broadcast channel transmission (e.g., a physical downlink control channel transmission). The UE may determine a bandwidth of the capability is less than the downlink bandwidth, and monitor search space occasions in a period to receive samples of the broadcast channel. The period and the search space occasions may be associated with a control resource set and a search space set. The UE may receive the samples in non-overlapping subbands of the bandwidth according to the bandwidth capability, and detect the broadcast channel based on the samples. The UE may additionally monitor repeated transmission occasions in the period based on detecting the broadcast channel to detect a second broadcast channel (e.g., a physical downlink shared channel).

    Abstract: A connection establishment procedure such as a handover or re-establishment procedure including a 2-step random access procedure may be completed within a defined time period. The defined time period may be measured from a handover command or a determination that a user equipment (UE) has lost a connection to a base station. The defined period of time may depend on one or both of a synchronization signal block (SSB) to random access channel (RACH) association period or a SSB to RACH association pattern period. The UE may receive a handover command from a serving cell. The UE may perform a handover in response to receiving the handover command or a re-establishment procedure in response to detecting the lost connection within the defined time period. One or more base stations may reserve resources for the connection establishment procedure during the defined time period.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may use easily detectable transmission parameters to infer difficult-to- detect parameters for communications with a base station. For example, the base station may provide the UE with multiple sets of transmission parameters, and the UE 115 may choose from among these sets of transmission parameters for the communications. In some cases, the UE may be configured with a reference set of transmission parameters, receive one or more transmission parameters that are different relative to the reference set of transmission parameters, and then determine to use the different transmission parameters for the communications. Additionally or alternatively, the multiple sets of transmission parameters may be specified for a certain uplink message (e.g., random access channel messages), where the UE selects the transmission parameter set based on one or more characteristics of the uplink message.
