SOLUTION: In the substrate 1 of an optical recording medium equipped with a information surface 2 having a recorded information area and a flat surface 3 on the rear side of the information surface 2, fine line grooves and/or recessed having a surface roughness Rmax of 20 to 100nm are formed in both areas, one area outside the recorded information area 4 on the information surface 2 or the other area outside the recorded information area 4 on the information surface 2 and the flat surface 3 on the rear side corresponding to this area.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyoxymethylene resin composition having excellent sliding performance, antistaticity and impact resistance and useful as mechanism elements of machine such as automobile by blending polyoxymethylene resin with a polyester elastomer copolymer copolymerized with a specific compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition contains (A) 100 pts.wt. of a polyoxymethylene resin, (B) 0.1-100 pts.wt. of a polyester elastomer copolymer composed mainly of (i) an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, (ii) an aliphatic diol, (iii) a poly(alkylene oxide) glycol having a number-average molecular weight of 500-20,000 and (iv) a compound expressed by the formula (R is 1-50C alkyl, alkanoyl or aryl; R' is 1-6C alkylene; n is 1-1,000) and preferably further (C) 0.01-20 pts.wt. of a lubricant.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an oxymethylene copolymer excellent in moldability and hue and also in hydrolysis resistance by polymerizing a mixture of trioxane with a cyclic ether in the presence of a polymerization catalyst, deactivating the catalyst, adding water together with a specified stabilizer to the reaction mixture, and heating the resulting mixture. CONSTITUTION:A process for producing an oxymethylene copolymer comprising oxymethylene units and other oxyalkylene units by polymerizing a mixture of trioxane with a cyclic ether in the presence of at least one polymerization catalyst selected from the group consisting of boron trifluoride, boron trifluoride hydrate and a coordination compound of boron trifluoride with an organic compound containing an oxygen or sulfur atom. This process comprises deactivating the catalyst after the polymerization, adding 0.001-1.0 pt.wt., per 100 pts.wt. crude polymer, alkaline earth metal salt of a fatty acid, 0.001-1.0 pt.wt. fatty acid amide, 0.001-1.0 pt.wt. antioxidant and 0.1-10 pts.wt. water to the reaction mixture, and heating the resulting mixture to 100-260 deg.C.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a copolymer having excellent heat stability and mechanical physical properties and reduced in odor when molded by polymerizing a trioxane with a cyclic ether and then deactivating a catalyst used and adding a stabilizer, water and alkali (earth) metal salts thereto and heating the reaction mixture. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of a trioxane and a cyclic ether is polymerized in the presence of a polymerization catalyst consisting of boron trifluoride (hydrate) and/or a coordination compound of boron trifluoride (hydrate) and an organic compound containing O or S and then a trivalent organophosphorus compound expressed by the formula [R to R are (halogenated)alkoxl, (substituted)alkoxy, mercapto or (substituted)alkoxy is added thereto to deactivate the polymerization catalyst. Then, water is added thereto together with the stabilizer and, further, alkali metal salts and/or alkaline earth metal salts are added thereto and the mixture is heated at 100-260 deg.C to provide the objective oxymethylene copolymer.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyoxymethylene resin composition excellent in thermal stability resistance and mechanical properties by blending a polyoxymethylene with a hindered phenol having a specific molecular weight, specified metallic hydroxide and phenolic resin. CONSTITUTION:A resin composition obtained by blending (A) 100 pts.wt. polyoxymethylene, preferably prepared by copolymerizing formaldehyde and/or trioxane and other cyclic ethers in the presence of preferably a Lewis acid catalyst and adding a hindered amine compound expressed by the formula (R is H or 1-30C monofunctional organic group; R to R are 1-5C alkyl; n is >=1; R is n-valent organic group) to stop the polymerization with (B) 0.001-5 pts.wt. hindered phenol having >=300 molecular weight, (C) 0.001-5 pts.wt. at least one of magnesium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide, strontium hydroxide and barium hydroxide and (D) 0.001-5 pts.wt. phenoxy resin.
