Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an alternately twisted composite yarn having stable alternated twisting structure, and capable of obtaining a cloth excellent in an unevenness feeling and a multiple coloring effect in deep, pale and different colors at a high production efficiency. SOLUTION: This alternately twisted composite yarn composed of at least 2 component yarns in which at least 2 component yarns have an alternated twisting sequences of the yarn part having a low density twisting and the yarn part of a high density twisting through a non twisted part along the longitudinal direction of the twisted yarn, is obtained by drawing after giving the alternate twisting to at least 2 component yarns with a low twisting density part and a high twisting density in a relation having a reverse twisting directions through a non twisted part and then imparting an intertwining to it.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To produce a polyester yarn which is densely dyed and, at the same time, satisfying the requirements of high strength and high modulus of elasticity by drawing a polyester yarn in a low-temperature plasma atmosphere after dyeing it in dense colors. CONSTITUTION: A multifilament yarn of polyester fibers is densely dyed in a cheese-state or a hank-state. Subsequently, the dyed yarn is subjected to drawing in a low-temperature plasma atmosphere generated in a reduced- pressure container containing a non-polymerizable gas such as argon or a polymerizable gas such as a fluorine-containing gas by glow discharge to increase the strength and modulus of elasticity. By using some kind of gas, the yarn is also imparted with soil-proofness and hygroscopicity by the treatment.

These fibers are obtained by drawing filaments in a pressure-reduced vessel filled with Ar, He, N2, air, CO, H2O or the like in a high voltage-applied low-temperature plasma atmosphere.
