Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a woven fabric excellent in tension, stiffness, resilience, surface softness and touch combined with natural touch and useful for worsted fabric-like fabrics and the like by treating a grey fabric comprising polyester fibers or the like under specific conditions. SOLUTION: This method for producing a woven fabric comprises processing a grey fabric comprising polyester fibers or both the polyester fibers and other fibers in a scouring and relaxing process or in a wet-thermal treatment process corresponding to the scouring and relaxing process to obtain the fabric having a woven fabric area rate of 39-79% based on that of the grey fabric, and subsequently extending the obtained fabric so that a woven fabric area rate after a final finishing process is larger by at least 1% than that after the scouring and relaxing process or the wet- thermal treatment process corresponding to the scouring and relaxing process and so that the woven fabric area rate of the final product is 40-85% based on that of the grey fabric. Therein, polyester multi-filaments having a crystallization degree of =20% and extended in a larger length by a dry thermal treatment after a boiling water treatment than that by the boiling water treatment are preferably used as at least a part of warps and/or wefts of the grey fabric.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pile yarn for mats rich in dust-removing ability, duct- catching ability, resilience and easy care nature and good in appearance and feeling when trod as well by twisting thermoplastic synthetic fiber bulky multifilament yarn and monofilament yarn together under specified conditions. SOLUTION: This pile yarn for mats is obtained by the following steps: a thermoplastic synthetic fiber bulky multifilament yarn A (pref. 300-3,000 denier in fineness) and monofilament yarn B (pref. 100-1,500 denier in fineness) are first twisted together using a direct cabler twister into a plied yarn 1C composed of both the yarns A and B, and two of the plied yarns 1C are subsequently twisted together again oppositely to the case with the 1st twisting using the direct cabler twister to produce a 2nd plied yarn 1D composed of both the yarns A and B totaling four yarns. This pile yarn for mats thus obtained has such a twist structure as to composed of primary twist, secondary twist and final twist with the same primary twist direction of the four yarns.
