Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the moldability of a polyester and the surface evenness, slipperiness, etc., of moldings, by adding a bifunctional org. compd. having a long-chain alkyl group and a hydroxyl, carboxyl or amino group to the polyester. CONSTITUTION:A bifunctional org. compd. having two functional groups selected from the group consisting of -OH, -COOR and -NHR (wherein R is H or an alkyl group- and a 6 C or higher long-chain alkyl group (e.g. 1,2-eicosanedial, 4-octadecylresorcinol) is prepd. The org. compd. is added to a polyester (e.g., polyethylene terephthalate) to obtain a desired polyester compsn. The addition is made before the completion of the polycondensation reaction in the production of the polyester to thereby react it sufficiently with a polyester component. The resultant polyester compsn. is suitable for use in the production of magnetic tapes.

The base paper for heat-sensitive stencil process printing is characterized in that a porous support with ink permeability is joined to the base paper through the coating layer of the film.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film for heat-sensitive stencil printing which shows outstanding perforating properties at a machine with a high resolving degree and also a high shelf stability as well as a stencil paper. SOLUTION: The film for heat-sensitive stencil printing comprises a layer (a layer A) consisting of a polymer composed mainly of a polylactic acid and a layer (a layer B) consisting of a polyester constituted of a dicarboxylic acid component and a glycol component, laminated in a three-layer fashion, i.e., B/A/B. The stencil paper for heat-sensitive stencil printing is structured of the film for heat-sensitive stencil printing and an ink-permeable porous support bonded together.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print a beautiful image from a first sheet even by printing by a high resolution type printer without changing a density of an image even by printing in a large quantity, by setting a pressure loss of the air in a porous support to a specific value. SOLUTION: In a porous support, a pressure loss of an inner air is set to less than 5 mmAg, preferably 4 mmAg or less or more preferalby 3 mmAg or less. If the loss of the air is 5 mmAg or more, a permeation resistance of an ink is increased. When printed by a high resolution type printer, a density of an image at initial several sheets becomes insufficient, and stable printed product cannot be obtained. A method for setting the resistance of the air to less than 5 mmAg includes the steps of mixing fibers of two or more types having different fiber diameters, regulating a crest amount or regulating a pressing pressure after papermaking.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the surface roughing of a film from occurring during film casting and, enhance the extensibility by melt-extruding an L-lactic acid polymer in a sheetlike form and casting the extruded sheet by cooling on a casting drum through a water film and further, biaxially stretching an unoriented film obtained through the cooled casting. SOLUTION: An L-lactic acid polymer contains an L-polylactic acid, a lactic acid/hydroxycarboxylic acid copolymer and a mixture thereof, and is dried and supplied to an extruder to be melt-extruded in a sheetlike form. Next, when the molten sheet is set by cooling on a casting drum, it is essential to form a water film on the casting drum. A decomposition product generated from the polymer sticks to the casting drum and in turn, is adhesively transferred to a cast film to prevent the surface of the film from becoming roughed. In addition, the unstretched film is biaxially stretched. Thus it is possible to enhance the heat sensitivity of the film and thereby, prolong the service life of a thermal head and further, shorten time required for plate making.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the generation of voids, and improve the carrying property, the image visibility, and the printing property by bonding a polyester film and a porous supporting body comprising a polyester fiber without using an adhesive, and setting it at a specified heating property. SOLUTION: This original paper for heat-sensitive stencil printing is formed by bonding a polyester film and a porous supporting body comprising a polyester fiber, without using an adhesive. Then, a property wherein the temperature by which the extension rate or the shrinkage rate reaches 2.0% when a temperature is raised by heating from a normal temperature, is 80 deg.C or higher, is imparted. By this constitution, fear wherein the strength of the original paper reduces due to a water content in an ink or an organic solvent or the like, is eliminated, and also, voids due to a transmission inhibition of the ink are prevented from being generated and the image visibility is improved. In addition, the generations of wrinkles at the time of a plate-making is suppressed, the carrying property after the plate-making becomes favorable, and the generation of printing defects and voids due to wrinkles are reduced, and the carrying property, the image visibility, and the printing property are improved.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a sensitivity in the case of perforating and to provide an excellent uniformity of perforating by satisfying specific relationship between a density of a thermoplastic resin film and a noncrystal density of a thermoplastic resin composition. SOLUTION: The film is formed of a thermoplastic resin composition. As the resin, a polyester or the like is preferable. It is necessary that a density (d:g/cm ) of the film and a noncrystal density (do:g/cm ) of the composition for constituting the film satisfyn a formula I. If (d-do) is less than -0.6 g/cm , a base sheet is easily curled, and hence not preferable. If it exceeds 0.02 g/cm , an effect of improving a sensitivity is not sufficiently obtained. Preferably, it satisfies a formula II. If it falls within this range, a curl further scarcely occurs. More preferably, it satisfies a formula III. If it falls within this range, perforability is further improved.
