Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a red light emitting element having high color purity by including at least a thiophene derivative having a fluorescence peak wave length being in a specific range and a compound having a pyrromethene skeleton or the metallic complex. SOLUTION: A light emitting material emits the light in a peak wave length of 580 nm to 720 nm by electric energy. This light emitting material includes a thiophene derivative having a fluorescence peak wave length of 540 nm to 720 nm and a compound having a pyrromethene skeleton or the metallic complex. The pyrromethene skeleton is expresed by the formula. In the formula, R1 to R7 may be the same or may be different, and are hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, aryl, aralkyl, alkenyl or the like, X is carbon or nitrogen, but in the case of nitrogen, R7 does not exist. B, Be, Mg, Cr, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Pt or the like are preferably cited as metal capable of coordinating with the metallic complex.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a red light emitting element with high efficiency of used electric energy and excellent color purity. SOLUTION: An element wherein a substrate for managing light emission exists between positive and negative electrodes and a light of a peak wavelength ranging within 580 nm or more to 720 nm or under is emitted, this element is a light emitting element including a fluorescent compound of a fluorescent peak wavelength ranging within 540 nm or more to 720 nm or under and including a compound having a pyrromethene skeleton represented in a formula (1) or a metallic complex thereof. In the formula (1), R1 to R7 may be the same or different and are selected from condensed rings formed among neighboring substituted groups of a hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, aryl, aralkyl, alkenyl, arylether, heterocycle, cyano, aldehyde, carbonyl, ester, carbamoyl, and amino and from aliphatic rings. X is a carbon or nitrogen; in a case of a nitrogen, R7 does not exist.

SOLUTION: This pigment dispersion has an amino group in a quinophthalone skeleton represented by general formula 1. The pigment dispersion comprises a phthalic acid derivative represented by general formula 2 or general formula 3. (wherein, R1 to R3 are each selected from hydrogen, a halogen, an alkyl group and an aryl group; m and n denote each an integer of 1-4; and R4 and R5 are each selected from hydrogen, a halogen and an alkyl group). The pigment composition consists essentially of a pigment, a resin and solvent and the colorant composition comprises the pigment dispersion. The color filter comprises colored layers which are colored films formed of each colorant composition.

The coloring agent composition comprising the pigment, a resin and a solvent as main components is characterized by the pigment dispersion included therein. The color filter is characterized by the colored film formed out of the coloring agent composition.
